Brake Change Price

I got quoted $850 to change all 4 rotors, all pads and all sensors (oem parts and labor included) for my 211 E55.

I am limited on experience, so I was wondering if this sounded reasonable, or could I potentially get a better deal elsewhere?

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Would you mind posting (or at least PM'ing me) the name of the shop?

I'm in Santa Clara and want to save this one to the memorybanks.

That is a outstanding price for a complete brake job. Labor alone is at least $100 per hour on a Mercedes. I wish that, I could find it that cheap in VA. Front rotors alone on my E63, are $920 a piece. I can get them for $720, I have a friend that works for Mercedes in the parts department at American Service Center in Arlington, VA. He's my ace in hole when it comes to parts. And I also know the shop foreman, make it your personal objective to know anyone that sells and works on Mercedes, it's a great asset.

If under $1K, it's good.

There's a shop in San Diego that I believe is around $900. I had a D service and tranny flush today...good place and straight shooters.

Check out parts.com, I got my front rotor replacements for $77.00 each. Parts are authentic OEM from a dealership, good luck.

If you go to parts.com, a site many members here use, brake parts are a good deal.

For the E55 Retail on front rotors are $129 a piece, pads are $274. Rear rotors are $109 a piece and rear pads are $87. Retail total for all 4 rotors and pads all around is $837.

Discount oem is Front Rotor $88 a piece, pads $188. Rear rotors are $74.75 a piece and rear pads are $59.80. New total with discounted oem is $573.30, a savings of $263.70.

Parts.com

is a rip off
www.autohausaz.com total parts and sensors well under $400 free shipping
rear rotors 61 bucks pads 30 bucks.Upgrade to dustless akebono pads maybe an additional $40.
all 4 corners
add $450 for labor and he has a very fair quote for a complete brake job.
If you don't diy it is very fair.

One question? Are the rotors still serviceable? Smooth and not at Min spec for thickness. If they are you can have them dress them and remove the glaze and get another use out of them.

Are you looking at W211 E55 parts? That site you posted got front pads for $138 and rears for $83 and some change. No rotors were listed, you gave parts pricing for the W210 E55.

Parts.com has great pricing, whats funny is that the E55 brake job is on par with a 335i brake job when comparing oem pricing...
