E63 Oil Level DipStick Indicator
Hi guys.
I have just replaced my E63 oil and filter at 15k miles because I drive lacal alot. I drained it and was able to fill 8 quarts of the 0w40 Mobil 1 and oil level is at betweeen the top 2 red indicators. Is that too high?
I was wondering which is the correct oil level on the dipstick. The E63 dipstick has 3 red plastic indicators (bottom, middle and top). The manual only shows 2 red indicators and says any where between the two is fine.
Any info will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

The manual says 9 qts, but if it doesn't come out, then what? Well you can't worry about it. Anyway, as long as it is between the two indicators, you are fine. Don't question yourself on this. If you followed the manual your golden, and if you need to add more, then the car will tell you to check oil level. I need to change my oil in both my C300 and E63 within the next few months.

RE: Oil Level
I recently changed my oil and found that if you let it drain out the old fashioned way from the bottom of the engine for 45 minutes and replace the oil filter, 9 quarts put mine pretty much exactly at the top of the top red bung on the dipstick, i.e. full.
The owners manual sais that an oil/filter change should take 9.3 US quarts, so I believe that a little stayed in the engine somewhere even with the extended drain time.

Dont forget that there is oil in the oil cooler as well. Even though it doesn't contain a substantial amount, but there is oil in it. That may account for the .3 that you couldn't retrieve.

Hi All,
I checked my oil today and found out that the red bottom part of my dipstick, the part that has min-max marks on it, has cracks. I want to change the dipstick before any plastic falls comes out and falls into the engine. Does anybody know the part number for 2007 E63 Amg? I can't find it on parts.com. Thanks in advance.
