Turn Fogs on with Auto -- tired of fogetting lights on when using fogs
I don't use my fogs all the time but it seems everytime I do I end up leaving them on.
I did a search and see talk about same issue but nobody solved it.
Any ideas ? Want fogs on when lights set to auto.

I think everyone here is in the same boat. I run my fogs at all times without the headlights on in the day. Makes the car look mean. I do not think there is any way around it.

This wont work if it's pulled while on auto, hence the question asked in this thread.

i don't understand why its soo hard for people to manually turn on the lights! my dad does the same thing when he drives mine, leaves it on Auto. he says, this is a luxury car right, i want the luxury of NOT manually moving my hand 5 *** inches, twist a small dial and move my hand back to the arm rest...
jesus... LOL
with that said, i always run fog lights when at dusk/dawn/night. love the look of it. soon i will be swapping over to 3K HID so thats going to look UBER cool!!!

blah blah blah
Wasn't looking for opinions more solutions :p
Was a question as I don't use my fogs very often and when I do its on the drive home. On the couple instances I have I left them on.
So was wondering if there was a way to have them on with auto so they would turn themselves off.
Illegal i get it easy to turn of yes. Question is all about how to stop me from running down my battery by mistake. My lexus had this feature so I am trying to retrain myself to turn them off.

fogs
not sure how useful this will be but when i had an eclipse i had a similar issue. there was no way of turning the fog lights on without turning on the headlights. a common solution for the eclipse owners was to connect the fuse for the foglight to the fuse for the parking lights. when you'd turn the parking lights on, the fog lights would also turn on. thought about doing the same with the benz but after an initial inspection of the fuse box, didn't think it was worth the effort.
you'd have to link the foglight fuse to the headlight fuse and they should come on in the auto setting. another solution might be to link the wires on the switch itself - the fog light wire to the headlight wire on the switch. again i thought about trying it but it wasn't worth the effort for me. on the eclipse, the fuses were next to each other so it was very simple with no wire cutting involved.

Yes, and it flashes a message and picture in the Instrument Cluster telling you to turn off your lights, just like it does when you don't remove the key, leave the sunroof open, etc... BTW, running only parking lights and/or fogs looks ghetto(and IS illegal). If you want to do that, go buy a 1993 LeSabre and you'll fit right in with the rest of the parking light crowd.

Here is how to do it.
1. Get the schematic
2. buy some wire, a relay, and a switch (and a soldering iron if you don't have one)
3. Wire it in.
The trick is how you want to wire this. My guess is that there is already a relay for the fogs, so you may only need to connect the signal that turns on the main headlights through the switch to the relay that turns on the fogs.
Turning the switch on would turn on would turn on both the fogs and headlights in automatic and provide auto shutoff to both. Also, when in the parking light position, turning on the fogs would ALSO turn on the headlights.
If there is no relay then you need to add one between 12V and the power lines to the fogs. Connect one side of the switch to headlight power and the other side to the relay solenoid. With the switch on, when the headlights are on, the fogs would be on.
So someone needs to find a schematic. If there are relays for both fogs and headlights, you probably don't need the schematics. Maybe I will look later myself.
EDIT: OK I looked at the fuse box in the engine compartment. There are 5 relays that say "Hella" which makes me think they are likely fro the lighting. However, running wires in and out of that box would probably be a huge pain. Likely that it would be easier near the control switch. Anyway, schematics would help a LOT.
