2006 s65. Ford Excursion 6.0. Pontiac GTO convertible. Porsche 944 Turbo SCCA car. Wife-E550 and 968
just bought 06 S65
9k miles. 56k. I'm pretty freakin' psyched. I'm only posting in E's because it seems that this is where all the action is and it has the highest concentration of lunatics. I don't get the car for about 10 days (needs minor paintwork on front lower bumper and needs to get shipped out east, probably won't ship till after xmas) But I'm already trying to figure out the safest tune... Renntech says they have a handheld programmer so I can flash back to stock for dealership visits. Anyone else have that for the 65? Also, anyone have bad experiences with stage 1 65 programs? Thanks!

I hear you on the wait till it gets here and Dam that sucks!! I am in the same boat-- about the 28th is when my baby gets here.
I much rather let it ship and save the 3K miles on the car and maybe potential problems that can happen..

Sounds like an awesome deal! These cars are the best deal to be had under 50k with average miles. I seriously considered getting one but want to want to get an 07+ S65. I also second the LET/Eurocharged tune. A tune is the best bang for your buck.

Thanks Gents! I will check out that tune! Yacht... I'm not driving for a few reasons, the primary being I've got to close out my year at work and I don't have the time because I'm traveling next week, second being I don't have snows yet, so my poor E ends up being my "snow car" until it's lease ends in April. Third, its cheaper to ship if you factor in the depreciation/fuel/plane ticket... not a decider, but combined with the first two, shipping it is. Z
P.S. - What do I do for snows/rims? Tirerack has no rims.
P.P.S - What do I do for Drag radials? Will 18's fit on the back? and same offset as my E? Thanks. It's funny to mention drag radials and snow tires in the same post!

Awesome buy, you'll love the car. Bought mine from a far wealthier friend who bought it new and moved up the to the W221 when it dropped. He had tuned it but there was a multitude of issues, dealer worked with me to bring it back to stock. I say dyno it and if you're making healthy rwhp....like 500 or a little more...then leave it and enjoy it....my .002c have heard good things about LET though so....
Yes, there's enough brake clearance to fit 18s on the back. Front brakes are massive, I still love checking them out
