What was the clicking noise after each kickdown? It sounds like you were in 2nd gear and then you shifted up 3 or 4 times. If this is what you did you may have confused your TCU on top of some possible heat soak.

Nice runs. I wouldn't say one car is better than the other (stock v. stock), it's really a driver's race.
When the 6.2 was new the 5.5 would regularly beat it from videos I saw and anecdotal evidence, but now that most of the 6.2s on the road are broken in they are starting to shine
I would like to see a race from 0-100 +

) so yeah I clicked from 2nd to 5th on each start and let the car decide where to shift. The car is confusing.. I'm used to driving SMG (BMW) and if you hit the paddle it shifts, not so with this car? In run 3 the car just hung at the top of 3rd gear @ 120 for an eternity... like it hit the top speed limiter. With 3 back to back runs I'm sure heat takes it's toll on the Kompressor.
Nice races. You'll beat the E63 next time out
I can't really tell from your video but it almost sounded like your car was not starting in the best gear for each run (didn't hear the engine high-revving). Also if you were manual shifting, you'll likely lose most races to an E63. Put the shift mode in "S", raise the suspension, then before you start honking, downshift all the way to the lowest possible gear by holding your shifter to the left for a few seconds. Let the car shift itself once the race starts. Lastly, do a "sneaky ECU reset" before your next race.

Not wanting to start the e55/e63 debate, but the video illustrates the difference. In stock form, the 63 is race ready all the time but requires $$$ to gain extra power. In stock form the 55 requires specific parameters for a race, but for a few extra $ extra power and performance can be had and walk the 63. Now throw in the future 5.5 TT (has this been confirmed

It definitely pulls, and I realized my tranny is smarter than me. I was in M on the first run from 2nd gear and dinged the rev limiter for a super short time, but it does that little bogged shift to 3rd. After that I rolled from second and left the tranny in S. I think it's odd that it will shift around 7200 in S on the 3-4 upshift. Either way, good times...I've wanted to run a stock 55 for a while..!!! See you at the Shop at Starwood...WOot..!!

I'm going to duck after I post this, so don't throw any shoes at me....
It's funny how many excuses the thread had generated to justify the fact that the 63 engine is better and more powerful in stock form. Yeah, yeah, you can modify it yaddah yaddah yaddah, but if you cannot believe your own eyes, why believe your imagination? Two different powerplants, period. I still wonder why keep comparing apples to oranges. What I see in the thread is the equivalent to saying that my girlfriend is hotter than yours, I just need to put new silicone *****, a wig, a full facelift and a different personality....

Nice runs, Scott. Manually shifting the car definitely had to hamper the performance of the e55 in this situation. I know manually shifting mine sucks. I can shift faster in my LR D-90 then the Benz will shift in manual mode.

I raced a M6 first month I bought the car left it on S while M6 was on power band using paddle shifters plus I had a failing IC pump I didn't know about. Well I got beat bad and a LOSE IS A LOSE regardless what shouda happened its what happened that counts.
I've raced a E63 with my E55 and I have beat it since I replaced my IC pump.
If anyone in the NEW YORK area has a stock E63 I'll be more then happy to come to you for a run.
