Brabus K8 E55 05
Question VRP 80mm or Eurocharged 82mm Throttle body kit for Brabus E55?

I have Brabus E55 K8, 2005, I would like to make some upgrades for the car, I will buy a Johnson CM30 IC pump and a Throttle body for now, leaving the headers and carbon airbox intakes for another time due short of money .

I am considering to get throttle body upgrade kit but I have seen 2 of them:

- One is VRP with 80mm for 1925$
- The second one is Eurocharged with 82mm for 1600$

What is the difference? Which one is recommended? apart from horse power, which one is more reliable and last longer.

Sorry for the ignorance but can you tell me what are the engine configurations on the Brabus models?

I know there is a twin turbo version but what version do you have>?

The engine is V8 with Brabus K8 performance kit, it is not the V12 engine.

haters crazy
VRP TB is 78mm and more expensive. Eurocharged TB is 82mm and cheaper. Should be a no brainer if you ask me. Bigger TB = more air flow = more power. The VRP inlet probably has the adapter welded on but the Eurocharged is bolt on, thats the only downside I see. Definitely not enough to change my decision, Eurocharged all the way.

from what i know the brabus k8 is not much..possibly = or less then a pulley +tune E55

no offence, they excell at the V12 engine swap...their V8 upgrades are nothing special from what i have seen for the price tag they charge...

and as for the OP question..go 82mm tb.

but u might need a tune

With the 82 you will change your air/fuel mixture and the ecu needs to be told that more air is now going into the engine, therefor it needs to dump in more fuel and a good tuner can dial this in perfectly.

So every time there is more air mod I have to take it for tunning? Next time when I change the stock airbox filter with the carbon one I have to take it too ?

I dont think you need a re tune. The ecu will adapt to the larger air volume going into the engine.

I'm sure the airbox isn't much of a big deal as a throttle body, of which you will most likely need a tune for...

It certainly wouldn't hurt to give Eurocharged a call to get their thoughts.

But fine tuning any engine mod would definitely help more than hurt.

Good luck

If you plan on getting a carbon fiber airbox and a 82mm throttle body I would get the ecu tuned for both so that you maximize your performance modifications.

Thanx a lot for your feedbacks, I think I got a clear picture somehow ,

Eurocharged Throttle + Tunning.

The second question, and i am sorry because i don't understand in modding:

Where should I do this tunning? Is there type of specified shops to do this? Dynos can ?

My knowledge is not that good.
