Let's see those BOOTIES!
I'd like to see how wide you can go on the stock E rear tires.
Stocks are 275s, how big can you go on the stock rim or are 275s pushing the limit? I was hoping at a minimum to get 295s or maybe 305s, is this possible on the stock rim? If not, what's the widest you can go on the stock rims?
How about with aftermarket rims? What's the widest tire you can go with on the stock chassis without rubbing issues etc.?
Please post up your shots from the rear of your car with meaty tires ... I'd like to see how they look and if you have any rubbing issues.

I honestly don't think that you can fit 295s on a stock rim, without any rubbing on the fenderwell. If your car was in the raise height mode, then it clears. But when the suspension settles, and you absorb bumps "BAM" rubbing. And that's not good for the tire or your fenders. I have a 275/30-19 mounted on my E63, and they fit outstandingly on a lowered suspension. No rubbing issues to speak of, with the narrowest of margins for clearance. But it's all an offset issue, with the right offset, larger rubber could be mounted. But 305 is a stretch, and 295 is pushing it from my perspective.

A few pictures I have to show you the visual difference:
First 265 vs 275 side by side:

Stock 265s on the E55:

275s on the E55:

And finally a 275 ps2 next to a 285 ps2. You will get a pretty significant visual change going from a 265 to a 285.

So is it safe to say that 285s on an otherwise stock suspension and stock rim wouldn't cause any rubbing issues/fender clearance concerns?
How about with aftermarket wheels? Say, a 10 inch wheel on 295s or 305s ... would this cause clearance/rubbing issues on a stock suspension ride height? If so, are there solutions to these issues?
Thank you in advance for the help, guys ...

I have an E55 with stock 18" wheels. On the rears, I believe they are 265/35/18. Could I also put 275/35/18 without any issues on the stock 18" wheels?
