How to change Voltage Regulator on the Alternator ?

In regards to my this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...ml#post3951913

Culprit-Voltage Regulator on the Alternator.

Can any one tell me how hard it is to change this voltage regulator ? My MB is charging me $821 to change the voltage regulator. Obviously I am not going to pay that, so please tell me how easy it is to change a voltage regulator on an alternator. Thank you in Advance.

u have to raise the engine to get alternator out then on back side of alternator is the voltage regulator it's really a easy job sine i have had to take mine out 6 times . but if u have local place to rebuild alternator have it done . but raise engine and from underneath u have to take it out that way

sorry for correcting but this cannot be left unedited

NEVER do that !
if you don't want to put at risk all your electronics.
(old school cars weren't so plenty with them)

just start car, switch on lights and check with a tester: if voltage shows around 13.9Volts and above, means the Alt is charging fine.
