Tossed alot in my sleep last night thinking about these headers. So is 4/21 the last day I could order at the special price? And do you have a link to a sound clip. I know I've run across one in the past.

This will most likely be my only mod. I wonder if we got a group buy together if they would knock off couple/few hundred bucks

I like your thinking. On the other hand, maybe it's time to put the hammer down and pick up a pen and checkbook. This is a tough one.

Thoughts on how much power these headers would pick up over Kleemanns?

From the dyno #'s I've seen about 10-15 on a stock motor but remember when they put these on a stage 5 Renntech E55 these headers picked up I believe 50hp more than the Renntech shorty headers. So it seems the more mods you have the more horsepower they will help you make.

That is a huge increase. I would think some of that would be attributed to the removal of the primary cats?

if you look at the first post in this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...tube-dyno.html

...the dyno graph shows MBH LTs compared to a competitor's LTs..... now keep in mind thats on a 63.....

and regarding numbers with and without primary cats, per that thread:

"Finally, MBH made their longtube headers and they are making 15whp in top of what GS [competitor's LTs] made which is 40whp more that what Renntech made so we are talking like 60whp plus compare to stock." ... again on a 63. so on the 63 at the very least, the MBH headers make power over other LTs and it isn't just because of deleting the primaries.

So, is the photo in the first post what we would actually be getting? Their appearance has changed since they were first derived.
Rather than list all the specs again, can you confirm that they are the same as they were in this thread? https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...ader-pics.html

Thanks for creating this opportunity Hooleyboy.

Sorry for the delay, I just got my SL55 in this weekend. Its been hard to get me out of it.

What you are seeing in the old pics was the C55 prototype header that lead to the the full development of the E55 header. The steering shaft of the E55 would not allow the C55 header to work on the E55/CLS55 header. So we had to build a new set to address the issues... among other things.

Thanks for replying, no problem on the delay.
That really doesn't answer my question reference the specs.
1) 1.75" primary, 2.5" merge collector, expands to 2.75" or 3" at the band clamp, yes?
2) Same materials?, 321 and 304 used throughout?

Good luck with your new ride!

There is a tune for these headers. I just dont talk about it, as i'm not tuner

A lot of folks have pulley and tune combos already on their car. So being able to bolt on some nice power, that pretty much works with existing mods is kinda cool. Someone could always go back and retune for the headers. I do understand that you can add more ignition to the tune when mixed with a nice header, thus making more power.

I try to show case results in a typical bolt and go way. More so as a product that can perform in a stand alone fashion.

I think if the headers were $2200 than they would have a lot more customers, but bringing them down from $3700 to $3000 is not too enticing.

Yes, they are expensive. Are they worth it, that's up to the individual to decide. To me, they are.
Not to start a pissing match, have you checked out some of the less expensive
long tubes that are offered for our platform? I did, and these were the closest to what I wanted. No regrets here.

$2,200 for those and I'll wire the funds yesterday. They are great looking and result in an unbelievable sound and power gains, but the question I asked myself is are they worth $800 more than the Eurocharged LTs.

Great header though nonetheless!

I wish, there was 2k of profit in these headers, In fact I wish there was 1k. IF you want to know why I offered them at this price? It was to keep my numbers up with my fabricator. For them to set aside big projects to make a small market header, It has to be worth my fabricators time. If the numbers are not there quantity wise, Than these headers would not be here. Or they would cost even more. Its hard to ask the guys to put down there tools for a set of headers, when they for a 10K fabrication job on there hands.

I've been working countless, fruitless, hours from the day I set out to make headers. On Mercedes header projects. Thats totally fine with me, The more time I get to spend working on my car or for the love of AMG's makes it worth it.

I've also been approached to make headers and exhaust for many of cars. I basically turned most of them down. Only because my passion is not in other cars, like it is with Mercedes.

I'm on my 4th Mercedes right now.. 190E, S500, C55 and now SL55. So there is some love for the MB brand.

I've recently developed C63, CLS63, and E63 long tube headers. As far as I know those headers are the most affordable 63 long tube headers currently available. When faced with he opportunity to meet market price, I chose to offer them for less.

On another note, I've got a CLS55 monster heat exchanger coming out soon. It was set to come out a while ago, but the numbers where not there. So after a lot time of discussing. I was able to get the price down to an area that could meet the working mans budget, While still being about twice the size of whats currently used in a CLS55.

However, you being a bar owner... Why do bars sell their drinks for many times more than what they really cost?
