55K Pulley Poll.. What size are you running?
We have a ton of great pulley threads debating pulleys... I could not find a poll on size. So with that said what are you running? Because there are so many sizes and brands, I'm just listing the poll to size. You can post your brand in the thread if you want.

Honestly, RennTech 172mm. Thinking about upgrading to 180mm soon.

What debate are you referring too? There are fast smaller pulley equipped cars and slower larger pulleys and vice verse. There are very large pulleys but no hard data as of yet in regards to comparisons or dynos- unless I missed something.
The only debate in the past was the quality of the pulley as some believe that it was alright for a pulley to wobble whereas others including myself strongly believe it is ridiculous to have a wobbling crank pulley even at idle.
I have a Eurucharged/ASP 180mm pulley and so far it has been exceptional. 1lb lighter than stock and no visible wobble. I cannot give praise to their service or tune, but the pulley is top notch-so far.

Your poll was not about any of those issues, it is about size only. Not sure what your trying to stir up. There is no debate on size per say which has been discussed. A properly tuned larger pulley car with proper cooling, proper tune, etc will generate more HP vs a smaller pulley car. There is no debate about it. There are those with larger pulleys with no cooling that get beat by cars with a smaller pulley with proper cooling and tune. Then the issue on what is the threshold in pulley size where any additional hp return is offset with cooling limitations (over 180).

That is fine, but since you put the debate issue in your original post I was curious to what your referring is all. I'm not familiar with the 182mm listed and would like to see the results but I believe many run the 180mm pulley.

The pulley sizes listed in the poll were taken from the sizes I collected throughout various threads found on this site and others. Let me see If I can find where I found 182mm...

Well it all started about an hour and half ago when I was searching for OEM pulley size and just started reading. Lots of threads, lots of opinions, but not much info on what most people are buying (other than those who want to argue their point) Seriously, nothing more than me just being curious...

here is my dyno chart with only difference being pulley size. clearly the 190 gave me a nice increase in power and torque. yes there is more heat but if you invest in proper cooling mods it should be okay. hasnt been enough testing and datalogging done yet so for now smaller = safer but where is the fun in safety. just be sure the car isnt ur daily driver if u plan on experimenting

Pic of stock vs. 172, 180 and 185 here:

Not sure if this will work:

Awesome gains!
Wow! That's a huge increase in torque! Very impressive!

Has anyone ever stopped to think about how fast we are spinning the superchargers and how much hp its robbing us to spin it that fast? Not to mention the extra heat. Anyone know what rpm the AMG blowers are spinning to make those large boost numbers?

there was good information posted a while back regarding our s/c efficiency and it's lack there of after certain rpms with larger pulleys. about all i remember was that we're losing about 100hp at redline. if someone could figure out a tuning alternative and replace our s/c with turbos we'd gain 100 free hp without any additional stress to the motor.

i thought about the heat problem a lot (especially since i live in south florida whre it is very hot and humid. i am doing all i can to combat the heat issue including bigger HE, 2 pumps, rear reservoir with dry ice, meth injection, and perhaps soon to be a fuel cooler and chiller. i need to do some more logging to see but so far with what i have done for cooling mods i have only gotten as high as 135 at WOT and immediately dropping back down to 100.

pulley was custom made.

Keep in mind these iats were logged without my system separated, without my reservoir, without my 2nd pump and without truly dialing the meth in. These were logged on my first 2 wot pulls after installing kit. I'll have better numbers soon
