E55 vs 2010 GT500
My friend recently got a 2010 GT500 and we went from a 40 mph roll. He got the hit but it was real close. both cars had 1/4 tank. we did 3 runs, same results. 2010: 160lbs, my passenger 160lbs. E55: 190lbs, 105lb passenger. Its a really close race, we also went from 30 thinking my ps2's would hook but they didnt, that vid will be up soon. my car is bone stock.

what? mustang gt runs 14's. my friend's gt500 can barely stay next to my slow c55 from a dead stop because there is no traction in that tank of his.

Out Of Control!!
Umm Mustang GT is definitely not the same as a GT500.

Sounds about right, a new GT500 is 3900lbs and 540hp/510tq. Both cars have severe traction issues but from a roll you did well to stay up.
Of course beyond the nice sheet metal is a typical Ford interior, but straight line they move pretty good and take to mods well.
Sounds like you car is running very well, now go get a Stage 1 from a reputable vendor before he gets his.

Displacement cu in (cc):5.4 litersPower bhp (kW) at RPM:540 bhp at 6200 rpmTorque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM:480 lb-ft. @ 4500 rpmRedline at RPM:6250 rpm
V8 Supercharge engine so about the same as E55
they are fast and mod friendly and cheap to mod...

Always makes me smile. Ford and the others are finally catching up on a Benz design literally created and developed 2001-2002.
Whad it take um......8-9 years.
Great vid.
Stang sounded great.

Very close results..... so was his car also bone stock or was it tuned?
Both cars seem to have very close specs so I guess the results are to be expected. Good video

Thanks for all replies. the GT is actually a really nice car and the tranny is smooth as silk. My car is bone stock that traps 115/116. the gt is stock.

Ford is starting to put out some pretty decent cars. The 03 Cobra was a barnburner as well. The interior will never match that of the BMW or MB but I am not real sure they are going for that. The only problem I have with the Americans is they ***** their cars out as rentals and fleet cars. The new SHO looks real nice as well. The problem is, after a year of seeing a million rentals, when you see a SHO it will just look like another rental.

So if you can get a nice rental such as a Benz, go for it.
I could only go through Enterprise though they did offer a hi-end rental-Jaguar.

The 2010s have the Ford GT engine and tune, right?? 550bhp, they're heavy but a great value perf buy for enthusiasts rather than snobs...

The 2011s are the ones to really watch out for. The 2011 Mustang GT brings back the 5.0L N/A V8 with 412hp and 390lbs-ft torque. It is running around 3,650lbs. The 2001 GT500 is getting a minor bump up to 550hp...but the main attraction is the use of an aluminum block in place of the iron one. Just the change in block lightens the front end 102lbs. The 2011 GT500 overall weighs 120+lbs lighter than the 2010. So figure it will be around 3,800lbs. The 2010 GT500s with a rated 540hp have dynoed (bone stock with 91 octane) 510+rwhp on a Dynojet. It is probably best to race them from a dig, as they are very difficult to launch. However, if the right driver is at the helm, you will need mods to leave them behind.

CLK but loves my Fords
E46 M3 would need F/I to keep up with a '11 GT.
2011-GT
Engine: Tune, Exhaust, Intake
Suspension: Panhard bar, upper and lower control arms
Tires: slicks and skinnies.
Good for 11.8 in the quarter.
E92 M3 cant even match that.

I like the color and stripe delete on this one. The only other option I would get is the glass roof. The SVT performance package is a great deal: wheels, 3.73 gears, suspension and spoiler).

sports car that is lighter and more power and newer.... stays even with a used 4 door sedan.. i'll take that anyday.
GT500 are great cars.. but the 2011 Gt500 should be better. better engine, cooling and handling. Its basically the old Forg GT engine.
