Paint Rims or Not? pics...

I am trying to decide if I should paint my rims black or gold.
Or maybe just leave as is.
Im thinking of just painting or powder-coating the spokes
what do you guys think?
and how much do you think it will cost?
any advice will help

Black would look good. I would go with more of a bronze than gold if I went that route though.

I have done this before with a set of AMG Reps below on my old S500.... The rivets are just plastic so I drilled them out and painted the wheels and then popped in the new plastic rivets back in. The problem is you probably do not have access to some. I would spray the centers flat black and
the lips either gloss gunmetal or gloss black. Or the entire wheel gloss gunmetal or black.

I think I paid 75 per wheel but this was a few years ago...75-100 a wheel is reasonable.

It's a C63 but it should give you a good idea of what black and gold would look like. . .

it should not cost more than $100/wheel for powder coat. I would go with Matte Black and Gloss Black lip with some MT rubber outback

OP - please consider you have a 2-pc wheel. If the shop is taking it apart to do the job (which should be the right way), I recommend you demand all 76 rivets replaced.

The rivets hold the face to the barrel and these tend to lose grip/thread after you "unscrew" them. For your own safety, you should not cut corners and get everything replaced and resealed.

Also, take close attention to "orange peel" on the surface and make sure the painter takes care of the lines and the ///AMG logo. If they don't do it right, you won't see the same depth on the wheels as before.

Go with a reputable shop, it's not worth saving $200 for a crappy job that can compromise safety and a perfect OEM wheel. Your budget should be around $100-$125/wheel.

Good luck and post pics when you are done.

i found 2 pretty popular powder-coating shops in my area.
Ill swing by friday and find out what they have to say.
I was at a paint shop earlier this week and i decided i'd rather powder coat instead of painting.
thats the better route, correct?
you think my rims are a true 2 piece or just a look alike?
