Any New Extended Warranty Info?

My COP warranty expires in December and I had a good quote from Mike Case on a Chrysler warranty that is now NOT available. Should have bought it when I got the quote and not waited.

Anyway, I've been following the issue on the forum and haven't seen anything lately on a good plan. MB quoted me 3995 for two years which seems way out of line and not a good deal at all.

So, any NEW information or suggestions on a reasonably priced plan for my '06 E55?

$4K for two years does not sound too bad. I paid just under $4K for my 3yr/Unl.mi. warranty through CSC. I am not sure if they are still writing the policies though. My SA at MB said they were the best warranty company he has ever dealt with. They made things painless to process my claims.

I picked up a MasterTech warranty July 30th from the dealer. My factory warranty runs out August 30th. Paid $5,900 for 4 year extension and up to 100,000 mi.

That's about the same price (or a bit more, depending on dealer) for a MBUSA extended warranty. How does it differ? I looked on their website and it seems about the same, but maybe not(?) Why did you choose Master Tech? Just curious.

I bought the MasterTech through the dealer. Went with them because my service advisor said he has never had an issue getting paid from them no matter what the claim.

^^^

Thanks. So they didn't try to sell you the MB one? Again just curious, since the MB one is through Mercedes itself.

JUST got off the phone with Chrysler service contracts. I have been told they are not offering service contracts for any cars that have over 36k miles.

They wouldn't sell me the MB warranty since I didn't purchase it at the time of vehicle purchase. All that was offered was the aftermarket. Looking back on the decision I probably should have opted for the MB warranty first time around when I bought the car

The factory warranty is good until 40,000 miles so how could this be possible ? The guy probably was talking out of his ***.
It seems like, the next thing we'll hear would be " CSC is is not writing any policies for cars older then 2 years"

That's unfortunate. You can buy the warranty from any dealer at any time while the car is under factory warranty. There is a 10% upcharge if you don't buy the warranty within 60 days (or maybe it's 30?)

But maybe you bought a used CPO car and that all doesn't apply. I'm not sure. I guess it's if you're only the original owner

Anyway, the MasterTech looks fine, I only wondered because it's around the same price as the MB one.

Just got quoted from my MB SA too, 07 E63 43k miles, factory 4y/50k warranty expires in about 7 weeks. Option was to extend to 7y/75k for $3850 or 7y/100k for $5980...=(

I assumed it was MB direct even though I bought my car used from another non-MB dealer, sounds like I should dbl chk...

.
Don't forget,7 years is from the in-service date not from the date of purchase.. It is 3years/75K or 3 yrs/100K,is what you get.

You may want to look into Direct Buy Warranty. I was given a fantastic price of something like $2600 for 4 years, for full coverage; don't remember mileage limitation though.

I don't know anyone with first hand experiance with them, a quick search revealed that they don't have any more complaints than any other warranty company. They have been around a long time.

I will dig into them further when my factory warranty expires in march 2011.

Anyone with first hand knowledge care to chime in?

Mercury is a good option....

They offer the 4/100 Platinum Plus, an exclusionary contract that is pretty comprehensive. Damien at 949-257-7515 has them.
