about to buy e55 wagon. mb platinum warranty
I'm going up this weekend to check out an 2005 e55 wagon that is out of warranty with 65k miles. So I called up a local dealership to check out their rates for extended warranty. Warranty is offered through a company called JM & A and covers everything except for maintenance and normal wear and tear.
Here are the options :
$100 deductible -
1 year $4132
2 years $5572
3 years $5903
4 years $7649
$250 deductible -
1 year $3853
2 years $5272
3 years $5603
4 years $7349
Does this seem ridiculous or on par with others? I know Chrystler used to offer much better deals but from what I've read they don't offer them for the e55 anymore, is this correct? What are my other options?
I'm a bit tentative purchasing and AMG car with such high miles without some security. Is that the risk I take or is it more likely that I will run into some issues and the warranty will prove worth it? Please help.

The reason I think this is a Fidelity warranty is because I have what is identified as a Platinum Plus warranty that was sold through Mercedes benz Honolulu. Looking at my invoice from yesterday, there is a CJMA coding on the repairs that are covered under the warranty.

Call around for better quotes.
I would not pay 6k for a 3/36 warranty. Nor would I buy a 05 E55 without any warranty.
Fidelity has been good to me and others but I didnt pay that amount. 6/72 policy on my RS6 was 3400 dollars.

I believe JM&A is Fidelity Warranty Services. At first I was apprehensive of them from the reviews on the internet, but I had to take my E55 in this past week for some work and they were very fair. This is the thread I started. https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...-services.html

Did you search the past threads here on warranty purchases? Start calling different Chrysler dealers to see what they offer. I dont know your location but you could call Autoscope in Dallas for a aftermarket quote. Good guys and talk to Steve. They have a great rep.

I bought a third party warranty: Easy-Care's "Total Care" package at the MB dealer.
Paid $3,000.00 and change for 3/36 with $250 D.
(Not AMG, 2004 E-500 Wagon, 4matic, 72,000 miles, one year ago.)
The catch was an inspection and repairs before the dealer could or would write the policy...The repairs cost me another $3,000.00 but what the heck, I bought the wagon for $3 to $4K below blue book anyways..
Got the extended warranty money back: A repair bill this summer was $4,8K at the MB dealer.
Don't leave home without a warranty.
(Or rather health insurance for your car)
