Help! should a 21yo buy an '07 e63?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
As for car, 21 + E63 =

If you want a nice car get something like a Range Rover, or an S550...for fun get a Cayman, will handle 10x better and more fun than an E63 and has plenty of power but not so much you'll be a headstone in the ground before 22...

So I will say this.....It's your money buy whatever the hell you want. The only opinion that really matters is your own.
If I was 21 again, an had 40K burning a hole in my pocket, I would consider a C63.
But if you do buy an AMG, be prepared for speeding tickets.

There you go..... 21 and in an AMG, how much better does it get?? At least women won't question your ***** size in an AMG like they would a Corvette.

Just be carefull with your right foot, it's takes time (maturity) to know that you have the power at hand but NOT to mash the peddle at every intersection.
GOOD LUCK with your decision.
Also most people who drive AMG's don't buy it with CASH they finance or lease it. Most people just like be perceived they are wealthy when they are in debt. This whole 16-22 thing is ridiculous. That age group is composed of like 95% Loans for car.
So yea, you cant go wrong with the E63 and get some new friends, they will only hinder you if they have comments like that.
Let me add my 2-cents...
Affording the car is step 1 in about 20 steps. Then it's outrageous insurance premiums. Heavy fuel bills. Lots of rear tires = $$$$.
Buying the car will be the cheapest part of ownership. It's the proper maintenance and care that will add up rather quickly. If you're sweating $40-$50k and that's your price range, remember you're stepping into a $100k vehicle...which has replacement parts and maintenance costs appropriate for a $100,000 vehicle.
Good luck, make the choice that makes you most happy.

But my advice is get a 55 with a warranty, take the difference and update the exterior to 63 specs and throw a pulley party under the hood, up the cooling factor and you come out a winner. It's the same body.
