Evosports Brake Rotors
Just wondering if anyone use the Evosport brake 2-piece rotors on their car?
How do you like it?
Are they ok to run as DD?
And are there any other options beside Evosports?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Tal, should've mentioned I got them from you.
They are a lot softer than I thought (not a bad thing) but certainly get the job done .
So far - no squeeks which is a HUGE plus. I had brembos on my last car and those loved to shoot a high pitched squeek, especially at traffic lights. Whew.

I'll definitely have to pick up a set after the winter has passed.

I'm going to replace my OEM rotors, with Evosports when it's time. To my knowledge Evosport are the only non-OEM direct replacement rotor on the market.

Also are the vents opposite vents on left and right rotors? What's odd about the OEM rotors is that the vents are identical; it's one rotor for both sides with the same vent direction.
I do like the idea of less unsprung weight. Where is the weight reduction on these primarily? Is it in the hats?

Any special going on? May be a group buy?
We drill and slot them to maintain the same design that came from the factory. We do offer SLOTTED only as an option if you prefer, but 98% of all customers will purchase DRILLED/SLOTTED. Quality of the rotors are as good if not better than any OE or aftermarket. We have been selling these for many years.
The OE rotors vent the wrong way on one side. They do this so they only have to cast one part that can be used left or right and save money on having to make another part. Our rotors are unique left to right so they are always venting the correct way.
The weight savings is huge and noticeable. Yes, the gains are primarily in the hat, although the disc itself is also lighter.

Simon and Brad have been in the racing game for years...I am a BMW CR as well and the 2 pc brakes are good for everything he mentions...weight reduction, specifically unsprung weight which helps for braking and accelerating. The viens on thise rotors should identify left and right and should be correspondingly directional as Simon mentioned. Also the slotted only are just fine as far as performqance is concerned, drilled are more for looks, outgasing on the street is not a relevent factor. I agree the hat is the critical element of advantage in a 2 pc rotor.
My questions are (1) can these be run with factory pads or are there better options from a dusting, longevity, and performance standpoint that no not squeal for a road car (2) the price is very high, are there alternative kits or manufacturers?

fwiw, it wouldn't bother me if they cost the same as OEM providing they have better performance. Esp the weight. (also the vent issue is just plain odd as I mentioned already with the OEM rotors.) I'd prefer them not drilled just due to possible cracking/fatigue, etc., and as Sunir says, it's really just for show. You see slotted rotors on the track but rarely drilled.
I heard the OEMs are 'gray iron.' Steel versus pig iron versus gray iron. You hear a lot about the pros and cons. I don't know enough about materials, but am curious about the Evosport material and if they are sourced domestically, etc..
In the end, weight is def an issue. Probably well worth it for that alone, imho.
