Buy the whole kit, I think it comes with 10 long ones with T handles..

Yes it was T20, I'm pretty sure it's the same on the E55 and cls55

Remember its okay if the torx screw falls into the door.
today was the day for working on the benz
TTM Scoops
Black Grille
Door Handle

Someone should do a write up on the TTM scoops.
They are not clear cut as the others make them out to be.

the install is super stinkin easy...

1. line up the scoops as they would look 'installed'
2. mark a spot using a pencil, I used my a small drillbit to start a hole
3. remove the scoop
4. drill the hole using a small bit to break through the metal (I broke two small drillbits doing this) there are a few layers of metal in there, I then opened up the hole using a 3/4" bit and it worked fine
5. put the two rubber hose pieces on the tubing behind the scoops to keep them from rubbing/banging
6. assemble the scoop
a. bolt down the hole on top
b. then scoop
c. then rubber spacer
d. then the mount on the car (that you just drilled)
e. then the locknut underneath note: I put the locknut underneath just in case it would work loose - the locknut will just fall off instead of getting sucked into the INTAKE!
7. using the allen wrench on top and 1/2" box-end wrench underneath, tighten to finish

Did you make sure the connections are right, you can literally check if it unlocks by clicking the door handle even when it's hanging off, don't put it together until you verify that

There only one connection though, the push tab with 2 pins in it. When it was hanging off, it didn't unlock or anything either. I thought maybe it wouldn't. I guess I have to do something with star?

No need for star, did you buy the correct handle for your car that said W keyless?

Is this a new or used handle? Mine was used, but worked right away (granted note very well, but that's because it's on it's last legs)

the door handles on the back doors of the CLS are different from the front ones... i had three of my door handles replaced under warranty... two still sort of work... anyways, when you plug the new handle in, it should work right away

pics for comparison

Yeah it is new from the dealer. When I took out the old handle, the connection had that green looking glue on it so i wiped it down and all. But still didn't work....Should I check through Star to see if there is a fault?

Damn that must be a pain. I guess the next step would be to check the appropriate fuse for it, but I'm new to this AMG game, so it might have to be a star readout to pinpoint the issue.

Hopefully one of the other guys can advise better.

Figured out my problem. The pin from inside the door was broken so it wouldn't work. If anyone needs a silver door handle, let me know!

Great stuff, at least it's working now

How much do these things go for at the dealer? I'd be interested but my car is black

cls door handles

my driver door and passenger door handles acted up. they wouldn't unlock or lock. i took my car to the dealer, they charged me $315/ door hand, about $650 total to replace both handles. now its 2 days later and they both don't work again!!!! what do i do? the damn dealer charges $125 for diagnostics each time!

also, does anyone know of a good shop in the NY/NJ/PA area that can do retrofits of command units and other upgrades?

thanks
