The E55 AMG dragster is about twice as fast as any normal car...

Leaving the BMW M5 behind...

Great pictures! Question for RS.

How do you think a stock W211 E55 AMG compares to a Kleemann tuned W210 E55k?

RS-Kicker,
Thanks again for the pics.

What was the weight of your new rims vs. AMG rims?

Beautiful cars, except for the VW wagon..

It's Carlsson 1/16 Ultra light 19".

It's interesting to see that there is a HUGE difference between taste in rims between USA and EU.

If you don't like them I can at least tell you they increase the performance by being lighter. (don't know how much).

There was no test drive at all at Kleemann so I wouldn't know.

I bet my money on that it's a little bit faster
But watch out since the Brabus E55 tuning did not make the car faster but your wallet some 17.000 Euros emptier...

What is the opinion on Kleemann in the US? I understand they have an office 'over there.'

Just a second. If the K8 kit produce only a 54 HP gain for 17000$, It's because it's really hard to push the V8 kompressor without reducing the lifetime of the car.
Kleemann will certainly tell you that you can do much better without altering the reliability of the car, believe them if you want.

I don't know about Brabus but I guess they do like Kleemann - take over factory warranty.

If you've got a brand new car you'll get 2 years (EU).
If you bring in a one year old car you get 1 year warranty and so on.

However, not talking about reliability. I'm talking about the importance to actually test and see what performance you get for your money.

A friend of mine tested their E55 AMG against the Brabus and the Brabus lost. The Brabus sales person had no explaination, their car had no problems. He said he would call but he didn't.
Still they charge 17.000 Euros for their so called upgrade.
They did the same thing when they went looking for a good M5 tuner with some very interesting results. Most tuners made the cars slower but unless you benchmarked it you would never know.

My point is - take care when chosing tuner and if possible test it againt your stock car to see if there's any difference. That goes for all tuners. Not saying Kleemann would be any different.

I think you're missing a point here: some stock cars have so much power, no wonder there is almost no difference with tuned cars.
The new supercharged V8 engines seem to vary a lot in power, maybe this is some kind of tolerance during engine construction?
It seems to be even worse with the bi-turbo charged V12 engines. So if you take a stock car with 530 HP and a tuned car with 550 HP, the results might be the same (tuned cars usually also have bigger wheels/tires).

Still doesn't justify 17.000 Euros from my pocket.

I understand the problem with the difference in wheel size, however I do not know if they had changed to 19" or not when they did the testrun against the Brabus. I doubt it.

Is the difference between the std. cars really that great?
What is the 'official' output the cars can have and still be witihn limits?

Why would Brabus then take an engine with what had to be
the lowest stock output, tune it and then race it against a stock E55 and loose? Makes no sense.

Most of the people who have experienced Kleemann products including myself is very satisfied especially their kompressor kit. It's absolutely amazing with the power it delivers.
