82MM Throttle Body Pin Swap- ??(Audi)

I believe that a number of you guys have successfully used an Audi 82mm TB. I searched and searched, and only found all the debate from 2009. I think this is as simple as swapping two wires. Can anyone share the process / Pins / Colors?

THANKS!

I do know that a few people have gone that route, but have also heard of them having problems with it. You should check into it further before moving forward....

I have a MB TB that I got from esteemed member Forest Gump that works perfect. (Plenum modified by Bruce at TTM) I just want to play around with some things, and got an Audi TB for cheap. Just looking at some options.. and do not want to mess with what is working. (bore the F out of it)

Thanks MO, I promise: I will not have any major mods underway the week preceding our next track rental. You will not get 4 PM's from me saying: "I cant go (WHAAAAA).. my car is not done!! - I'm In!!! - Im out.. Maybe... Oh ****.. I'll make it!

Seriously!

Oh.. Can I swap pins / solder / whatever INSIDE the Audi TB, so as not have to hack into wiring? Over and out!@

I haven't been able to contact the track owner or any of the managers yet.... they've been missing in action since last week I recall he told me that only 2 weekends are available in February when I was talking to him at the track but he wasn't sure which one. I've been calling him once a day since.... he made a big mistake when he gave me his cell phone number

Which is why I am olny playing with disposable parts. Seems like most issues people have had have been due to the never ending intake leaks.. I have my current set up in and out a number of times.. and it is solid. I will not mess with what works... Plus, by the time I am done messing with thisg, Ill have a complete spare car in my garage

Hey Dane, before you get too far with your ideas, you realize that the mb 82 and the Audi 82 have different bolt pattern right? You sure you want to pull the sc inlet again just to test certain theories?

Good info Skratch..

anyone here with an Audi TB that works without CEL or other issues?

As I said, this is just to keep me sane..

If I dont have a project (regardless of reality), I will do something stupid to my car

Alright then, carry on.

May I suggest you to move the Ait sensor into the middle of the surge tank and run a meth nozzle per surge tank.

I actualy had planned to move IAT sensor before Famoso, but simply ran out of time. I am looking for a couple of spare surge tanks that I can play with as well.. I put that in another therad... along with a request for a spare Intercooler

I may not do all of this, and the TB may be a bust, but as I mentioned, I hate down time, and would rather play with "Spare Parts"...

The thing I really need most is some LT headers and exhaust. the rest is just play time for now....

I have an 82mm AUDI Tb and it works good, it used to throw a code for idle too low but ever since I got tuned it has not popped up. I also had mine bored and a new plate, its right around 85mm. You can get a used audi for under 200.00 bucks.....

I have a 82 mm Audi tb.

Since day 1 that I started the car after installing it, I have never have any issues. No CEL.

It was no easy job to adapt it to the car. First of all, by removing the SC was a very complicated job, then the adapter plate to the SC inlet, and then the wiring.
But after all I think it is worth it... ($1600+ 82mm tb kit vs $200 audi tb)

I should mention that you need to swap the MB cap onto the Audi TB and then re pin.

Cant swap the pins internally. You need to do it on the actual connector.

Correct.
Bosch is a manufacturer of DBW throttle bodies. They do not preference 1 particular vehicle.
To date there are 4 Bosch TPS (what you call the cap) and 2 different style of housing.
For simplicity sake we will call the Audi 82mm unit a "large" body and a C320 a "small body". All large body units are identical mechanically. The difference lies in the actual TPS (the Cap as you called it) .

Porsche / Mercedes-Benz & Volvo use 1 style of TPS connector
Volkswagen / Audi / Seat / Skoda & BMW use the 2nd style of TPS connector.

For those of you who have PM'ed me over the year , I have directed you to the forum sponsor Jerry@Eurocharged. He can even supply you with a plug and play harness so that you not have to actually do any repining of your OEM connector.
Watch out for an 85mm and 90mm unit released from him soon.
