What happens when your wife takes your E63 to Canada for 2 weeks?
So my wife took our E63 to Canada for almost 2 weeks, and somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,600 - 1,700 miles, in order to see some family for Christmas and New Years. Well, imagine my surprise when I was able to break free from work for 2 days and ran up to Canada to visit them for Christmas and saw my precious E63 so dirty that it honestly looked like it had been repainted a mixture of brown and salty gray. I almost had a heart attack. Even though I did not say anything, she could tell I was not please and had someone come over to take the car in to be washed. It was so beyond dirty that it had to be washed TWICE, and it STILL looked like crap. When I left, at least I could tell there was a black car there instead of a turd brown one. I figured she would know that I was not happy about the lack of car care, and it would never happen again. Well, I was wrong. She came home yesterday and it looked like this:
Needless to say, I immediately took the car to the car wash, washed it TWICE, and it was still looking like crap. So I called my auto detail guy and asked for the soonest available full detail appointment he had and he let me drop it off today. So hopefully when my baby comes back from detail it will be standing tall like I usually have it. What would you do if you were me and your wife brought your car back looking like this? Has anyone else ever had their car get this dirty? You should have seen the inside. Food everywhere. It was ridiculous.

I wash and detail my own cars so seeing my car as dirty as yours would only give me pleasure...lol. Regardless, my wife doesn't drive my car EVER anyways because she says it's super uncomfortable. If I get an E55 though, it may be a different story.

I would normally do it myself too, but it is 14 degrees outside in Indiana, and I do not feel like getting frostbite. I hope you live someplace warmer than here!

Somebody's wife is going to have to do that thing that wives don't ever want to have to do unless they get in big trouble!
I'm sending mine to Canada!

How long have you been married ?? You seemed surprised your wife has no respect for your car...or better yet, not the same respect that you do. So you have 2 choices, don't let her drive your car and get her a POS beater that she can treat like a trash can, or make her start respecting your car if she wants to drive it.
Sounds like you have some training to do.

2 weeks being wife driven and it's only dirty? No dents? No scratches? No make-up stains on the leather? No animals trapped in the front fascia? Sorry to tell you, but you and your AMG made out just fine.
Oh, and I wash my cars every week in sub freezing temps. Check out a product called Optimum No Rinse. It's amazing and can be used with a bucket of warm water in your garage.

ONR is great followed up by a quick spray of OCW. It is the only way to survive in the colder temps.

Thank you for the tips on the Optimum No Rinse. I will have to track some of that down.

You'll love ONR, I wash with this method 80% of the time, including warm weather. When used correctly, it's safer for your paint too. Having a black car, I'm sure you're very aware of how easy it is to I troduce marring and swirl marks into your car's paint.

As for the condition of the car, I would be happy with no dents, and the interior not being trashed.

You gotta be kidding me. Only on this forum will you see someone flipping out that their family car got salt on it, in the Winter, in Canada.
Edit: To answer your question, my car has been much much dirtier. In fact, I washed it on Friday for the first time in 2.5 months. It still looks and drives just like it always has.

I would say she is banned from driving, sitting, and even looking at the car in a way which displeases you Buy her a e320 and put a e63 badge on it so she can feel equal!

Spend about $800 on a celing mounted heater and $800 on a power washer. A quick hot water power wash and then pull her into the 65 degree garage and it makes for a great detail booth!

Having a dirty car in winter is life mate, Canadian roads and a black car are never going to be a good mix. My cars use to look like that after 20 minutes on the highway after washing them, just wash it again...
However, that being said - I lose it when food wrappers (or anything else) are left inside the car, that grinds me to no end. You can't control what gets on the outside but you sure as hell can on the inside. My wife did that once and once only.
