I'm at roughly 1200ft, too, and I get 21.6mpg, at best, in comfort mode on the highway. Low 20s with somewhat spirited driving and cruise at 80mph in comfort. I can't complain too much. I have been on a few road trips and obviously the altitude changed substantially.

I see you have earned your "stripes". I got to see mine pop up at 100k wasn't expecting anything but a number change and those things popped up. So now you have |100,000| miles, who else here earned stripes? Glad she's still going strong, mine is feeling like it's got a quarter of it's actual mileage.

It'll last a very long time but just don't let a bad tune destroy your engine

I don't know why these cars won't last with proper maintenance. In Europe you see them with high mileage.

I think a lot of issues can come from poorly trained techs at the dealers. My SA says there's only MBUSA and the mother ship in Germany and that a lot of communication gets mixed up during diagnostics, etc.. Owning an AMG in Germany is like owning a Chevy in Michigan; easy to get proper repair done and parts are everywhere.

Of course modding will always have the potential of reducing reliability but if you take care of the car and replace parts when needed, then it should be able to rack up plenty of miles. There's really no reason why not.
