Android Torque application.
I searched and found another post from September of last year, but it didnt get much in the way of attention so I thought I would throw it out there again.
Anyone currently using the Android app "Torque"? It looks super cool, and would add yet another cool feature to my android phone.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any real-world experience using this app with our cars.

If you have a droid then...
If you've got a droid, then you've got 95% of the investment out of the way. The app looks like it's like 5 bucks and you have to buy a bluetooth piece for the connection to the car.
Then BAM you have a scan/monitoring tool.

going to buy one...
I'm going to buy one, let me know where you are going to be buying yours from.
I'd rather spend more and be happy with the result.

That one seems to work and for 20 bucks I guess if it breaks in a week who cares. This video is better. There are companies in America that sell the same one so I may go with one of them for warranty issues.

NOW THERE ARE TWO GUINEA PIGS!!!!
OK, I just placed my order for the same one. For $29.98 if this all comes together it will be the coolest 40 bucks I've ever spent.
I noticed most of these were sold out of Hong Kong and were about a 22 day lead time. THESE WERE ACTUALLY HERE IN THE US.

I believe I started the orginal thread about this app. I ordered the same unit you guys did and can confirm it works perfectly, so you made the right choice there. Just do NOT install the CD that came with it, I ran an AVG scan off the top and it was loaded with viruses and crap. I haven't loaded the Torque App yet so I haven't tried it as my car is just coming out of storage this week. I will also follow up on this thread with you guys and let's see if this thing is useful. If it is, wow what a savings!

How long did it take you guys to download or buy the app? Mine has been downloading for 10 minutes already. Given, this is the first app I have bought which is not free

I have been using this lately instead of my OT-2. I have a Dell Streak 5" with the full version of Torque from the marketplace and the Ebay $25 ELM327. Works perfectly and the display is awesome. I actually prefer it to my OT-2 due to the customization available to the gauges right on the phone. It also does a cool Heads Up Display option that lets you mount it flat on the dash and reflect off the the windsheild. It's pretty cool at night. It you have a decent android 2.2 phone, you really can't beat it for about 35 bucks total investment!

I have been dying to get the app and the Bluetooth dongle for a while, but I was really hoping for a little tribal knowlegde from someone that has actually used it!
Now I'm more excited than ever!!!
