After some freezing rain, my driver's side mirror now has a crack in it. It's a hairline crack that runs from center to lower edge, not all the way across. Is there anyway to repair that, or do I have to get a new piece of glass? And is there anywhere besides MB to get the heated auto-dimming glass?

 

Our mirrors are heated??? Sweet!

Heated, yes, auto-dimming, no. MB's the only option, and wait till you hear the price.

 

Actually, mine are auto dimming. According to them manual, they are heated and they are dimmed.

Like I said, I learned something new with this car even after 6 months!

I actually read the manual before I bought the car, but out of almost 500 pages, you do tend to miss some stuff. I actually read the 07 manual first, since I didn't expect to find an 08 I could afford. Then I scrambled to read that one too.

PM me your VIN, and I can confirm - I'm not a E Series expert - but it looks like A2118102321, MSRP $795.

Also looks like there are two different glass sets, option 806 vs option 807.

 

My driver side was crack due to frezzing temperture and the dealer replaced it under warranty.
