PM TTM he does it . Also you can remove the baffles on the intake tubes located under the hood behind the grill but added air flow you will most likely have to tune the car eventually . MOst cases will throw a CEL light

Replace the highly restricted left side intake pipe with an unrestricted right side intake pipe (about $15); drop in a couple of K&N's; remove the intake baffles and you will be amazed at the improvement.

Or do you mean the plastic cover on the intake behind the grill? I noticed an increase by removing just those restricting flaps

follow the intake tubes right on top of the radiator and there are your baffles or snorkles or scoops as some like to call them . run right thru the radiator support

Yea, ttm has some really nice ones. I was thinking about re-routing the tubing down into the h/e grill, but it'd just be more restrictions.

just pop the hood, and on each side of the grille where the snorkels go, there will be a bunch of plastic junk and flaps that just constrict air flow. i cut mine off with a utility knife

I'm running an S55 pipe and it's more of a mental crutch than functional I think. It's larger, yes, but the inlet is still crimped like the original driver's side pipe. Also, if you've felt the pipes before, you'll know that there's not a very good seal being created at either end [into the filter housings or at the front pass through near the headlights].

With that said, I built my own metal intake scoops in place of the OEM plastic ones, and removed all that plastic junk over the weekend.

I've learned 2 things so far. 3 minutes of idling heat-soaks the metal that I fabricated my scoops from to a temperature so hot it burns you when you touch it, even with high temp paint. Additionally, it's a damn ***** to get them to seal properly without being able to properly weld oval loops to stick into the front of the pass-throughs.

I'm going to try and rectify the bad seals at the filter housings with a metal hose clamp to compress the plastic intake tubes at that end. At the other end, I'm going to start with 3M double sided tape, if I can't think of a better binding agent that will better hold up to the extreme heat. Like a silicone intercooler coupler wedged in there and over the collector of my intake scoop.

If you took that picture [Scott W? ] - are you running exhaust-wrap on your intake tubes.

If so, did you change your factory inlets behind the grill or were they on when you ran your 11.5?

I did take the pic.

I wrapped the tubes and made my own "scoops" for the 11.5 run.

Good enough for me. What all did it take to go from 12.0 to 11.5?

I'm the Michael that randomly fb'd you btw.
