burnt oil deposits in spark plugs
Wondering if anyone else had a similar issue , is it due to leaky valves letting oil into combustion chamber or the piston rings are shot?
its my first ever Benz.. hope this issue can be fixed:P
can someone suggest any good repair shop in Toronto, canada
Compression and Leakdown will tell the story
Pull the plug and insert the camera and you can look for gouge marks on cylinder wall. Also, good to see what surface of piston dome or top looks like. A motor burning too much oil on any particular cylinder will have a ton more residue on surface of the top of the piston as well.
Also good idea make sure the key is nowhere near the ignition when using the DIC. Use a breaker bar/crank socket for turning motor over.

I do see black soot deporots on/around the chrome tips in quad exhaust. not sure of the smoke.. but i guess it should contain burnt oil, since im constanly loosing a quart of engnine oil every few hundred kms.
Just one more thing, how much should the oil quantity read in the tachometer when its switched to diagnose mode? mine shows 8.4 lts when i add the recommended oil amount .
Go wash your car, and then drive 120 or so miles. Once you've racked up the 120 miles on your clean car drag your finger across the back of the rear bumper. If your fingertip is blackened by soot you definitely have an issue. It will also have a burnt oil smell to it.

I disconnected the coil pack connection for this cylinder car runs smoother and apparently wont burn so much oil since the cylinder wouldnt fire anymore. Just wondnering if it is possible to still let the supercharger kick in even when one cylinder is out ie: make the ecu think that coil pack 5 is operational even though its not.
otherwise Till i figure out someone who can fix this issue the car would run like a v7 ....

When driving hard I had this problem from over a year ago and was putting a litre in every month of 5w 30 which was to low on the high temp end.
when I switched to 5w 40 it slightly improved. Now I am going to go with 10w 60 mobil on my next. These engine produce alot of heat and I feel that by increasing the high end temp viscocity of the oil.
I can't see this being healthy for the crankshaft or the main journals. Vibrations can kill the mains.
This is going to set up a weird harmonic that is just not smooth. Do you have anyone you can borrow a beater from or a second car. I wouldnt knowingly run it with a dead cylinder.

+1
A bit risky IMO. What about the unburnt fuel corroding the plating on the bores.
I would not recomend driving around on a dead cylinders you may end up replacing alot more than just rings/pistons.
