Help! Super rough idle/ leak?
Read through some of the threads, going to have the car scanned to see what the CEL is for...
Car was parked for about 2 weeks, the air intake pipes on both sides were not connected, rad fan was disconnected (was waiting to install shims)...
today installed all the stuff, fired her up and BAM, was idling SUPER rough, CEL, and drove like crap...
Also noticed the magnetic pack is not spinning at idle, unless you give some gas... the clutch is spinning with the belt with no problems... my first guess is some sort of leak? I didnt disconnect anything else... any thoughts?
Thanks

Also i had the intake pipes unconnected, and fan. This happened all of a sudden, read a thread about unmetered air and resetting will try this...
Any pics or details on where to check for leaks? Tb, firewall, charcoal filter area?

The reason why the sc isn't spinning is because the second/bypass throttle is fully opened ( I've had this happen already ). I was servicing my sbc though when it happened to me and as soon as I finished messing with the sbc the issue was solved. You must have left SOMETHING unplugged somewhere...take a good look.

Hm. do you have access to star without a dealer? If not, then repeat the same procedure you did before, with unplugging the fan, shimming it, etc, maybe youll see something you were looking for but missed.

Sooooo... as per Sharduls instructions, unplugged the battery, unplugged ecu plugs, re plugged them, plugged in battery, fired it up and she was running perfect! Was a loose connection on one of the plugs after all.
Thanks to everyone, thanks Scratch, big thanks Shardul for my numerious calls over the past month lol
BTW installed the shims, and now car runs perfect!
