Even the non-AMG V8TT's are running pretty strong.

my wife really likes the W212 and I do too, but im holding off until next year for the new engine.
As much as we need a sedan... the E550 coupe with the 4.6TT would be a sweet ride. According to the MB website is over 200lbs lighter than the sedan.
(rounded numbers)
CLS550 4180lbs
E550 4050+/- lbs
E550 coupe 3775 lbs
btw: 4 matic would be a nice option too.. add some weight, but never worry about traction off the line.

I can't wait my moms about to get the 2012 CLS550!! MBUSA claimed it would only do 0-60 in 5.1 seconds but 4.2 is just astonishing!!

and the AWD makes for putting all the power down a much easier task! if i could change only one thing about my e55 it would be to have it come from the factory with AWD... easily 0-60mph in 4 sec stock if it had it

To be frank, I'm not an AWD fan. Prefer the simplicity of RWD.Also makes for a lighter car. Of course it will be a little hairier to drive but I can live with that. This is why I've always prefered the 911 GT2 to the turbo. Anyway, still can't see a stock 550tt taking a stock 55 on the derestricted autobahn.

The "real AMGs" will likely test much faster than their non-AMG brethern. I wouldn't be surprised to see the new E63/CLS63 w/PP crack an 11.7 1/4m in the right temps...on the right track surface. I think most magazines will test them in the around 12.0s 1/4m...which is .8s faster than the CLS550. The previous CLS550 was a low 13s 1/4m car...and old CLS63 was a mid-12s car. So the progress is somewhat proportional.

OE Tuning already got their hands on a CLS550 and here is the post from the other forum:
Here is the ECU tuning results for the all new Mercedes Benz CLS550 (W218). This brand new model boasts a twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V8 power plant, putting out 402 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque to the flywheel. This particular vehicle came in featuring the “Launch Edition” package, complete with “Edition 1″ interior, no after-market modifications, running CA91 pump gasoline. During testing on our in-house 4×4 Dyno Dynamics dyno, the gains seen to the wheel were: +65wTq@4400rpm & +40wHp@5100rpm (depicted in the dynograph attached). Boost levels were increased along with torque management, to achieve said figures.
This same power plant can also be found in current & future S550, CL550, E550, SL550 US models. This vehicle is also known as the CLS500 4.6L Bi-Turbo in other parts of the world.
Enjoy.....

I'm hoping that if 40 whp gains from tune only are possible on the 4.7L TT engine then double those gains from tune only would be possible from a 5.5L TT
