........best to ignore gaspam's rants. My point about the e55's internals is that the cost associated with rebuilding internals can be mitigated in this case. So cost is not really the issue with the 55's. I think everyone that has seriously tried to do this knows that tuning is the problem, hence the competence issue. Custom fabrication is all people talk about, but that's the easy part. Had the internals rebuilt on my W210, the s/c removed and custom tabs started. Ultimately wentback to the s/c. No one to help with custom tuning.

here is a prime example to my point that it is not a tuning competency issue with this platform (anything can be tuned around with stand alones), but rather a lack of interest of the owners of this platform to warrant a tuner ( that is in it for business and not love of the car) to want to invest his time versus lets say, tuning for the honda community where he will get a lot more interest and thus be more profitable..

this guy wants to build a TT setup for the 55 and look at the lack of interest...he is basically being turned away, hence why this guy will also say "forget about this platform.. no money to be made" ...

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...ercharger.html

so....not a lack of competency or lack of tuners stepping up to offer solutions, but a lack of large number of owners wanting to TT their luxury sedan (same reason you dont see a huge tuner crowd for rolls royces)

Sadly, the 4MATIC won't hold up to the power....

It would be great if Mercedes / AMG would eventually develop a stronger AWD system for their high-powered cars. The problem for most of the tuned AMG cars now isn't horsepower, it's their lack of traction. Get an AMG to put the power down like a Gallardo or R8 does and then you've REALLY got something.

There's a reason why shops like UGR focus on tuning AWD platforms....

Has anyone pushed a 4 matic car to see how much power it holds?

there was info around here about a guy in russia that converted his e55 to 4-matic a few years ago and it was supposed to be pretty impressive.

We need something to hang with the new E63tt, M5, and
highly modded CTSV's. Its
only a matter of time before
tunes, downpipes, exc are
available

A tune and simple bolt on's will have these TT V8's blowing the doors off of our E55's... All except the "White Bison"!!!! EV12 baby!!!!

What's the weak part of the 4matic system? Transmission could be built I'm assuming because its a 722.6...is the transfer case the weak link?

there was actually a 4matic option for the w210 E55s from AMG as a build to order option... supposedly 15 were built

I was wondering if tt6.2l engine was poss. Or is the wiestec sc the better way to go. Short of rebuiling engine and trans internals what is max boost we could safely get away with. I know 63s high comp is a problem for getting boosted safely. I guess best bet would be waiting a few years and pick up used 2012 E63... Maybe answered my own question I just LOVE sound from my 0763.

Would this be cheaper than the new wiestec sc if we chose to go biturbo instead of a new sc?

Twin Borg Warner 6258's would be nice. I have been throwing around the idea with using those as the main pieces to start out with than going from there on the M113 500. There were people who posted in this thread that sounded pretty serious about getting this done. any more updates or is this another case of all talk and no results?

So any progress on this or...? It's a good idea. What actually is holding back the project, is it the custom nature or ECU and electronic issues or....? It would be nice to have an 800+hp M113. Am I right in saying this would be lighter than the 600 V12 motor?

It would certainly be amazing for anyone interested to have more options though to make big power. It truely is a shame that after all this time this engine has been around that there hasn't been a supercharger upgrade available.
The market is way to small to justify the amount of work involved (for a for profit business)....

To SpeedDriven - Save your business and don't go down this path....1000s will say they want it / will buy it, but only a very small number actually have the $$ and real interest. To make serious HP, which is the only reason to do TT, you would have to rebuild the motor IMHO.

Best of luck

The turbo project was scrapped because of lack of serious interest. We are instead going down the wipple supercharger route

Thanks
Aleks
