So close yet SO far. M5 begging for action..couldn't get it up
Now I know what hell feels like. Bottom line is I have been fighting this car for quite awhile now and was out testing it to see if it was gonna throw it's famous CEL and have me clearing out every swear word in memory.
Turns out it was a wire cross on my new O2s so I was tenderly taking it out and hoping for no CELS after FINALLY finding and fixing. So far so good. Lemme remind that I also am unregistered as the (*&(*& thing won't pass emissions with CELS present.
Into sight head on comes the famous Bimmer look and wonder "is it?"
He drives past me looking straight at me and revs that beautiful V10 and there was no mistaking.
I have been waiting for nearly 7 years for this moment and there it was in front of me......
Angel on one shoulder, "Come on Jim, you get busted with no reggy and she gets towed for sure. They won't be kind to her. What if it's not the O2 sensors and you toast the motor"
"Are you f'in kidding me!!!? You have been waiting EVER since you bought this for an E60 M5 kill. Damn the torpedos, FULL SPEED AHEAD!!! You got one shot....DO THIS!!! Are you hearing the 8 Mile theme!!?? Flip around take this chump"
As I saw him in my rear view literally slow to a craw waiting I tucked my unreg'd and just fixed tail between my legs and slowly made my way home.
Ugh, I need a beer.

LOL - wise choice in my book. Not worth getting your car trashed in an impound yard. But it does hurt!
There is a young guy in a previous gen Viper here in Kingwood I have had an eye out for. He may me beat me, but I've been wanting to play. Just a few weeks back me the wife and kids (5yr and 8yr) hop in the E to head to dinner and OF COURSE I find myself next to the Viper not once but 3 times at red lights and behind him as he proceeds to due a run onto the freeway...ARGH!!! Not chancing it with the loved ones.

In Indiana this does not seem to happen much with my E63. I am thinking it is simply because people do not know that this car is fast enough to try to race it.

Jim, you have zero to prove. They should be RUNNING away from you. Even a stroker M5 would have serious problems with your car.
