Oh man... I can't believe it. I just bought a CLK55 not even three weeks ago. Pretty much loaded, and it was around the same money as a lesser optioned E55. But I would have bought it however it was optioned. I'd take the lesser optioned silver car.... . I was assured that there were absolutely NO E55's available for at least a couple years... Damn, this really sucks. I wanted an E sooooooo badly . Don't let me find whoever canceled their order . I guess I should have thought of going on some sort of cancellation list...

Looks like AMG is flooding the market with E55's. I know where there are a few more available for instant purchase.

 

I paid $79250 for my CLK55. That could have gotten me an E55 with a couple of options. That is of course, assuming that I could find one being sold at the MSRP, which I suspect is not likely. Was I being b.s.'d about their being no E55's? I won't hold an unexpected cancellation or some other unexpected event, but I'll he REALLY unhappy if my salesperson (who was a former co-workwer) knew that there were E55's available. He did say, and I later read elsewhere, that traditionally, Mercedes Benz two door coupes hold higher resale value than the sedans (albeit this was before the W211), so it may be possible to trade out of my CLK55 into a similarly used W211 E55 in a few years. I hope so anyway. I just Traded an 02 BMW M3 SMG for my CLK. I got a pretty nice deal, and I didn't lose much money at all, but I know that I'd lose BIG time if I tried to trade up into an E now. Too bad there isn't a 30 day return policy...

I saw one at beverly hills classic car! 88k on price tag

 

I don't mean to add insult to injury, but I drove both the E55 and CLK55 around Daytona and all I can say is-AIN'T NO COMPARISON.

Maybe there will be someone who would pay close to what you paid for the CLK if you advertised it aggressively since it is a limited production car which is basically new. Maybe the dealer would take it back for near what you paid if you tell him you have to have a W211 and are willing to pay 2-3000 over sticker. He might be able to get another vehicle since MB usually holds 1-2 a month for VIP's or as a bone for good dealers.

I can't believe you have 3 W211's?? Wow...how much do you want for them? Have you taken delivery already or is it just a spot on the wait list?

Brad, can you please tell me how each one is spec'd out? What are the options on it? any with bi-xenon lights?

Overall the cars are not moving fast. The hype may have ended, the economy may be the factor or more potential buyers are waiting for the 2004 version and DVD Comand Navigation.
