Have you seen this car??
Hey MBWorlders-
I was hoping to tap into the vast experience of this forum and see if anyone had previously known of a modded E55 that I have been considering for purchase. Unfortunately, the car is out of state so I don't have the advantage of seeing it in person.
The carfax came back clean and it appears to be in good shape, but considering it has some significant mods, I thought that perhaps it may have been noticed before by the AMG enthusiasts here.
This may be a longshot, but if anyone knows anything about the history of this particular car, I'd be hugely appreciative to hear your feedback.
The car is a 2004 E55 with about 37K miles and has a Renntech Stage 3 Kit, 20" chrome Mayas, lots of options including a pano roof, and finally a pretty distinctive blue tint on the windows (which I would remove ASAP!).

waiting for the right e55
I actually had a thread on this same car in June I think, and it was for something like ~26K. I was going to pick it up but the guy told me he sold it to the east coast. Weird that the current owner wants to sell so fast. Either he is looking for a quick sale or something is going on with the car that they aren't telling us.

I actually had a thread on this same car in June I think, and it was for something like ~26K. I was going to pick it up but the guy told me he sold it to the east coast. So I looked at both the Autocheck and CarFax report again, and I wonder if he sold it directly to a dealer. Looks like there was a "title or registration" event on 4/7/11 and the next thing that shows up was it being offered for sale in IL on 7/8/11.
The other funny thing is that when you saw it for sale, it was around 26k. Now that the stealership has it, they wanted around 33k!

The thing that gets me about this car is that it keeps being flipped around... I just talked to a buddy of mine in AZ and he said he saw this car for sale for 22k back in March of this year...
My advice is to find a different one. I would not want to get into an e55 headache haha..
Im done looking for an e55 for a while now, just picked up an 06 350z. The prices on the AMG's have shot up soooooo much in the past couple of months (im talking about 10k now...).
