lowered, but now the ride sux !!
I just had my car lowered using the star and the look is cool, but the ride blows. On the interstate the front feels like its floating, and the back feels so harsh. Is anyone else that has their car lowered experiance the same.

My car got a good amount harsher when I lowered it, and mine is about an inch higher than yours just eyeballing it. First thing you need is an alignment, and not to Mercedes factory specs. Secondly, you might want to raise her a bit.

How did you even go that low with just STAR? I've tried every way possible to lower my car with star and it went lower but not a whole lot. I ended up using washers to make it go even lower.
With the car that low, it's no wonder it's harsh. You are riding on the bump stops.

Make sure you are in the Sport II suspension setting. Mine felt loose once lowered via STAR but S II setting solved my problem. And agree, get an alignment and get used to the inside of your front tires wearing 3x faster than the mid/outside.

the tech adjusted the factory sensor on the front, by losening the bolt and just turning it, that basically fooled the car in thinking that it is sitting higher at stock height. the back sensor is located above the axle and doin the same he adjusted that. doing this he had ist slammed ! but I need a little clearance for the crappy atl roads. When i hit the raise button it puts the car right where i like it.

dunwoodydtailr,
Be careful what you ask for...........
I had my car lowered as well with STAR, and my ride doesn't feel harsh at all. But of course, I'm not slammed like yours.

Dunwoodytailr, it could be a matter of worn bushings. I rocked the slammed look for a while and I was fine on 400 but other highways got me to raise it to my current height but it felt tight since I had new bushings put in before. My current height is the same as Yullie36 and ride is perfect now and again, no floaty feel.
Did u get er done at RBM or MB of Buckhead?

when you go to use the star there is an sensor on the front and rear of the car that helps the computer know where the car is sitting. the tech loosend the only nut/ bolt on there and turned the arm so it tricks the computer in thinking that the factory ride setting is sitting high thus you can lower it more.

My brothers CLS 55 is slammed and it rides nice, however My SL 55 when slammed is so harsh. Not to mention the back end waggle when I'm tanking though the gears. It feels like im on one of those kids go cart you find at amusement parks
