Class action lawsuit to be filed against Mercedes alleges AMG 63 V8 defects
Okay that's a fair assessment.
And I do understand that there are bad runs on anything, food, clothes, you name it. But what I don't like is if they (MB) continue to make it that way and then cover it up through a silent recall. Also unlike a Honda Accord if one of our engines grenades it's going to be $50k+ for a crate engine. I have a bumper to bumer warranty for two years so I'm not personally worried, but this defect "could" affect our resale value substantially down the road.

haha
Only with a repair kit, after the symptoms appear.

He also added that they just recently settled a class action with BMW over engine defects as well, that case was filed in 2009. Litigants received cash and an extended warranty.

I'm assuming that's your car ? If so, hopefully still under warranty.
Edit:Unfortunately, I've heard this sound all too often when looking at '09's

Btw I only get this on the right side and from the paperwork on my car
The right cams and lifters were replace befor I purchased the car

I spoke to the lead attorney again today to get an update. Here's the latest... Mercedes (of course) has been trying very hard to have the case and its various facets dismissed. A judge will decide by July whether the whole case or only certain portions will proceed, or he could dismiss it entirely.
There are around 30,000 people in the class! I was shocked to hear this as I just assumed it was a relatively small number, something like 500 or so. He reminded me that this covers all of the 6.3 models from 2007-2011, C63, S63, E63 etc etc
The lead attorney is Neil Goro, and he would be interested in hearing from anybody that has had engine issues or repairs, basically something that could help the case. He can be reached at 210-487-7500. There is a lot of info in this thread, so please don't bug him with questions that have already been answered.

I will post an update again some time in July.
