E63 Intake manifold leak
I did a test by spraying MAF cleaner around intake and had idle change at the front of intake. I have no CEL. Can I get away with a re-torque of the intake bolts and not change the gasket. Car has 64k dealer said the intake was never done. No Wrnty. I did this work on my BMW 540 not a big deal.
If I have to change gasket what else should I swap out since I am in the area.
Any simple upgrade I can do at this time?

E63,,,not any more,,,BMW X5 50i
I had this done under warranty, it was under warranty at the time. There is (was) an issue with the manifold gasket. I had the same leak you did and at first they didn't believe me, then they did it and confirmed it. Mine didn't show a CEL either,, so I don't know how it could have a leak and not be detected.

I dont see a problem and no CEL
I saw others with this problem and decided to check it out.
I took MAF cleaner and spray it around the intake front of motor and the idle change as if the car has a misfire that is how I know I have a leak.
I check all hoses making sure it not a hose. No hissing at idle nothing at all. But after my test I know I have a leak. 65k
With stock air filters I have no CEL with KNN I get a CEL for lean at idle which means more air that can be from the added air from KNN filters and the leak combine. Stock filters and no CEL light. I did not even clear the light it went away.
I really just want to snug the bolts down before doing the removal and all that work.

M&AMG...check see if you have a leak for the fun of it..
I would never have known I had an intake leak if not for seeing so many failed gaskets and it was an easy test to perform.
Take a can of Gumout and spray it in the front of the intake at idle and give it a good shot where the front bolts are located. You might have a leak and not even know it.
Local dealer said he seen them at 15k some even lower. He is amazing at 65k only now I get it. I think it was leaking all along and no CEL so no one notice.

^ how much is "a good shot '? That is where mine was leaking from.I sprayed a steady stream down the front right area and I seen a stumble. The STAR machine also reflected # 6 and 7 cyl when the stuble occured.

23.. you have an intake leak I am 99.9% sure of it
"A good shot" i would say steady spray for about 4-5 seconds. If you just mist it spray spray nothing... Spray hold and just move left to right on the front you will see the idle stumble. Seem like the front is the first area to go bad. Raining here for the next week and no indoor parking or else I would make a youtube clip of it. When i did it first I notice nothing until I kep the spray on it.
