M156 Motor Mileage/Issues Check-In

With the recent surfacing of the M156 Class Action Suit, I thought it would be a good idea to start a poll showing M156 motor mileage along with an indication of whether or not the engine has been trouble free during that time.

For purposes of this poll, engine trouble is defined as anything mechanical related. Electrical or sensor related problems should not be counted.

If you are among those voting with engine trouble, please post a brief description of your issue, the approximate mileage at which you experienced it, and how it was resolved, if at all.

you should classify engine trouble as mechanical issues? versus cam sensors purge valves intake leaks....

Great thread Eric, they should make this into a sticky.

2010 C63, 14k miles on the clock no problems whatsoever.
Only problem I had was one burned out O2 sensor @ 7,500 miles and that was due to using pure MS109 race fuel (not mixed with CA 91 octane).

2010 C63, 11,000 miles, only issues so far were a purge valve and O2 sensor.

I picked 25 to 50k with issues.. not because they have been diagnosed, but because I dropped my car off this past monday with shifting issues and ticking noises. These may or may not be related to the current lawsuit..

I would add a few more options to the poll, possible issues..

2011 C63 with 4000 miles, no problems.
Consumed one qt of oil around 3600 miles and heard a loud screeching sound (like a super rusty hamster wheel/grinding noise) around 3800 miles.
Occasional ticking at start up, couple puffs of smoke upon start up occasionally as well.
All pretty benign stuff and common for these motors.

65k miles here, and only had to change motor mounts under CPO warranty at 50k miles.

Car was pinging/detonating but carbon clean and tune is the solution.

I put this down to the car being too lightly driven by the Mrs.

Everything else good, no ticking ect.

This lawsuit is horse****.

Only had my car for a few months, just past 39k and is running great. I'm still concerned about future issues and significant depreciation on a future trade or sale.

69,500 miles, and not a problem engine wise. Cut up axle boot had to be replaced.

About 3k miles on mine quickly after break in, in the first month of ownership. Definately uses a little oil and tranny can be jumpy around parking lots when twitchy on the gas pedal.

Awesome car so far, but looking to add oil catch can...as long as dealer doesnt have an irrational issue with it.

Could this thread be moved to the top of each AMG and M156 forum?

I just want to say that there are 63 voters on this thread. Is that a coincidence?
