I have a set sitting in my garage. Not opposed to sending them out to get measured...

Cam Info

Sorry guys, made a mistake posting to the page while I thought I was direct messaging to 2JZ.

While the project is not "Top Secret" I meant for that info to be a message not a post. There are a lot of custom parts being whittled out for the project as it seems there is not much out there for AMG's. The engine I am working on will be run on the chassis dyno and tuned for MAX Hp and I am sure that SOLO will post the results once the project is completed & with the permission of the car owner. If there is enough interest I am confident that the essentials of the build will be available in kit form or as a complete engine depending on your wants and needs. Any inquiries can be made to Boris @ SoloMotorsports.

2JZ,
I will run the cams thru the computer profiler to determine the specs; if you cover the shipping and insurance on the sticks I will do the hard work.
If you message me a phone # I can call you to give you shipping info.

Oh wait is he talking about you? So is it 6.5L or 7.0L? And the post is still form 2011 regardless. Who's tuning it? Good luck, I will be waiting

Thanks for the warm welcome

I appreciate the links to my posts on other sites.

I updated the post on the AMG engine as it was supposed to be a PM but hey, no biggie. The info on the build will be available thru Boris@Solo whenever the project gets closer to completioin.

I guess if anybody wants to know about my 30 years of Flow Bench testing, 25 years worth of Inertia Testing on my Superflow Chassis Dyno, or building the small bore / big stroke engine, or anything about a Serdi Machine they can pm me.

Not a real big deal that the post is a couple years old, I have already had a couple of contacts and should have some cams in hand to test pretty soon.

I can't wait to see this 6.5L beast just another tool wanting to be someone. Sounds like he might be draining someone's pockets at the same time...

Not wanting to hurt anybodys feelings or step on anybody's toes but couple of folks I know ran their street cars at Commerce last week, with them old antiquated Small block American Junkers went in the mid 8's with 1.50 60ft and they drove their cars to the track.

I have been building 800-1200HP N/A Carbureted Small blocks for 20 years now, and with multiple OHC's, DIS, and 3, 4, and 5 valves per cylinder and well advanced cylinder head designs, along with 3 and 4 dimensional mapping, it should not be too hard to reach the same numbers with a little bit of hard work and proper machining.

Not too sure how many of you have ever looked at the open deck design and understand the purpose of it but that is a pretty big key to learning about why these engines don't make the power that they need to. It only only took Dodge about 5 years to cipher out why it don't work and why it don't make big power. I took about 2000 engines and a couple million dyno pulls to finally get the poiint accross that it would not work as it was in CUP, but that is probably way too low tech to be discussed on this site. We were only making about 900HP out of 12:1 Carbed flat tappet junker Chevy's.

Hell it only took McLaren 3 years to get their FI / ECU package up to speed to match what us old rednecks been doing for the last 25 years with junky 2 valve heads, pushrods, a flat tappet cam and a 50 year old Holley carb. Hell, I was only able to get my ARCA SB-2's up to 11,200 qualifying before they changed the rules on me with that damn Mallory ignition box. You know it took me all of 2 week to cipher the hack on that system. You might just need to give me a minute or two to get this trick Benz stuff ciphered out.

Rather than BS about the Stroker Engine on here, once it is completed, run in on the chassis dyno and final tuned, I will let the results speak for themselves.

Oh yea, you might want to delve into the bore / stroke / rod length combinations a lot of the German engines have and see what you find out.

BMW has just announced they just remembered that about 75 years ago a group of their engineers discovered that small bore big stroke was the way to go for power and efficiency. They built some new engine and lo and behold they are quite a bit better than what they been running for the last 50 years...

Go Figure, why a dumba$$ like me would want to stroke the hell out of an AMG55 engine.

I already have a Billet Crank on the drawing board as well as a CNC'd AMG55 block in an effort to hold up to 1000-1500HP as I think the heads will be capable of producing those numbers with a little squish, a little more boost as well as a little laughing gas in the intercoolers. I think you can find a reference to that in the 30's and 40's research papers on the ME-109 engine. Them old Germans were some pretty smart fellers.

I appreciate the PM's guys, and once Solo decides to post some numbers things will become a lot clearer.

Edgar, hold on to ur britches brother...and grab on tight !!!

This gets better and better. I guess it not a problem when that old thing they call a piston that has the tiny circle things called rings comes down below the bore and the cirle things aren't gonna be to happy not to mention the clearance to run that stroke. Biggest bore your gonna get is only 2mm over stock so even at 3 mm having a paper thin gap between cylinders for sealing your not going to get to 6.5L. Let me guess your building a deck plate motor now? P.S. George Bryce said he wants his prostock motorcycle heads back you stole from him.

Oh and forgot to tell you the kleeman cams have .451 lift intake and exhaust. Go ahead and make sure custom .700 lift cams for the 6.5L
