Limp Mode or IC Pump Gone Bad?
I just picked up an 06 E55 with 60k miles.
It is in excellent condition and was driving great initially. After a few runs, I experienced something like a limp mode, or perhaps it was the IC pump failing. I would floor it from any speed and it would just accelerate soo slowly. I tried turning the car on/off and it was driving fine for a couple runs but then the same problem. I'm not sure if this is the IC pump failure or an issue of something else.

Sounds like an IC pump issue. When I first picked up my E55 it was doing the same, I believe when IAT temperatures hit 200F the supercharger will shut down. I replaced the pump with a CM-30 and that took care of it. I later installed a Meziere WP-136 and a larger heat exchanger because of my modding needs.

could be your Tensioner pulley as the stock ones are plastic and tend to break... this happened to me a month ago or so and car drove like it was on 2 cylinders...

After replacing 3 I/C pumps on my SL55. I finally think I have one that wont crap the bed. I'm always worried about bad gas too with used car buys. My SL came with 87 octane in it and it made only 380whp on the dyno. But in 3 gallons of 109 octane and made 412whp. Most likely just a bad pump, but crap gas can be an issue as well.

I think what most are saying is that as the pump ages it is not able to keep up with the demands of the S/C intercooling and intake air temps rise, causing the computer to reduce power (shut down S/C). When things cool down, power returns.
This is happening to mine. I just bought the Bosch Pump (better "010" version) on Ebay for $130 shipped.
