Daily Driver - 172mm or 180mm
I have already purchased a "power package" from Eurocharged with the 180mm pulley... but now I am considering the 172mm instead. This is a daily driver, and will never be on the track and I will never do headers or anything like that.
I'd like some feedback on what people think is a better option?

172 100% then.
Nice power bump and less stress on engine for longer life.
Props to you for having that kind of self control. Once I did my first tune I was a hopeless modaholic ever since. Went from simple Kleemann stage 2 to pulling the heads and putting in 2.82 rear end and on and on.
Go 172 and be done with it. If you are not going to do extra heat exchanger etc, 180 may give you some heatsoak trouble mid summer.

I have a 180mm on a DD and I love it. If you get a smaller one, you may one day find yourself thinking "I wonder what the 180 is like?". If that does happen, just know it's awesome! lol
In all seriousness, every one will say what they have is "the right one". I think documented truth is that they're all great. I got the 180 because I was told by someone here "go big or go home". Been a happy guy ever since.

What if the car is not only your daily driver but is high mile (as mine is at 96k). I'm almost leaning towards headers and tune for the little extra HP instead of pulley and tune just for engine, supercharge, etc. longevity but the cost of a pulley, tune and cm30 pump is so attractive. However with that Kleeman header sale (if it's not over), it made me think that would be about the same power increase but would it be easier on a higher mile (well taken care of) engine? The cost of header install would however significantly increase the cost of that mod for those who didn't want to DYI.

Adding to your theory... The eminent arrival of the new smaller S/C pulley for the E55 is another option that can add power and reduce the stress on the motor. You get the same power as a BIG lower pulley but with a lot less mass hanging out there on the crank snout.
Costwise, it appears to be reasonably priced and the install is far simpler than headers.

I want to be able to beat the **** out of my car on a daily basis, and still keep the motor running strong... My Kleemann 168 is absolutely fantastic. Adding some Kleemann headers soon... she should be more than good enough for me

I had a 180 and put a Kleemann 168 on my CLS55 and the 168 with the Kleeman headers and a tune was awsome. No jerk and ran smooth as butter. Actually was more smooth then stock.

Curious if any of you guys are running the 180s with NO heat exchanger or any type of cooling mods.
If so, you NEVER had supercharger shutoff during the summer months???![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)

Hate for this poor guy to have to add a heat exchanger and all that when he really just wants to throw on a small pulley and have some fun.

I went 172 because my car is a DD and I rack up some serious miles each week.
To many complaints from other members with 180s and heat issues.
I don't have an upgraded HE and I've had no issues.
172 and a few other bolt ons and I have more than enough power for the streets.
If I could do it all over, I would do headers first, then pulley later.
good luck with what ever route you go
