Kleemann Header install. Difficulty?

Kleemann Header install. Difficulty?
Has anyone installed any shorty style or Kleemanns? Difficult, or is it really tight fit? You can say I have Moderate mechanic skills... Considering doing this with a buddy. OR should I not bother and have it don.e at an indy shop?
Thoughts? Saw BrainS DIY and looks pretty straight forward, but i dunno

Simple, but your back will be a bit sore from leaning over the engine for a few hours.
Remove coil packs, use an open ended wrench as a lever, to pop the plug boots off. Go ahead and use this opportunity to change your plugs. Use a little dielectric grease inside the plug boots when you reinstall.
I've done shorty headers twice in a driveway.

I did VRP shorties in about 6 hours. Its not particularly hard, its just time consuming. You'll likely get bloody knuckles.
The hardest part is putting on the gaskets if the bolts back all the way out with the nut. That shiz made me mad.

Biggest problem if you have moderate mechanical ability is that you have to cut the cats out and weld up the pipes. The kleemann stuff does not really line up with the stock pipes either.
I always suggest removing the stock pipes completely and making new and keeping the stock ones for if you want to put it back or sell them.

The kleemanns come with a down pipe that deletes the primary.. Pretty sure it wont bolt up to the primary (have to use the down pipe).. Welding is necessary with these shorties

It's really not that bad. I'm half way through a C55 header install and it's worse than the E55 install...yet still not HORRIBLE.My previous G35 was HORRIBLE.

you cant keep the stock cats, this is not a "shorty header" you need the down pipes and the cats will be deleted on the stock pipes, you'll need to cut the factory pipe and weld new flanges, mechanically its just time consuming, but if you haven't welded exhaust before, i'd leave it to pro.

With the prior work you have done, you can DIY. However talking to Cory regarding emissions/readiness, you can send the ECU to him and he programs a file that is separate from the tuned portion of the ECU to think that you have both cats so the o2s read correctly. He also said you can put new primary cats in, but still may have to weld due to the alignment of stock exhaust.
Labor quotes i have received is 5-6hrs. Komp55 has a good DIY on his evosport header write up. Only difference would be the welding of the downpipes/aftermarket cats if you go that route.
