airmatic help
Can anyone tell me how much a e55 raises up once you start driving .I lowered the front with lowering links to where I wanted when its in park but noticed after driving when I got out it was at least 1.5 inches higher then lowered itself again.how do I set it to be at the lower hight when driving.

.
What suspension mode do you have the car set to normally? (Comfort, Sport 1, Sport 2)??
I don't notice it with my E55, but my 2005 E500 used to drop down about 1" every time I parked it and turned off the key.... never got an Airmatic failure warning on the dash either.

If your car drops when you park it.
You have a leak.
If your car lifts when you start it.
You have a leak.
When you have a leak the compressor runs OVERTIME and will burn up prematurely, it will also take its relay along with it to an early death.

My E55 'auto levels' to some degree if you park it somewhere that may have a slight incline or side/side angle - so perhaps it's worth considering that the slight height adjustment may be also caused by the levelling function when parked?
Unless its the same adjustment allround - then that would seem more like a leak

Did you align it after lowering?
My E55 would sit always have a different height until it was properly aligned. Thinking extra toe/camber caused the car to sit funny while driving or just after driving.

Ok so when you leave the car parked for a while then go back, and click the unlock button on the key fob, and the car drops, what does this mean? Is their a leak or is this normal?
