new E63 owner.
whatsup everyone! new to me 2007 E63 owner here. definitely not new to these forums though, obviously. i'm not a noob, i'm not gonna ask how to turn on the fog lights and how to adjust the seats and dumb stuff the W203 crew would get upset over, but i was wondering a couple things. how in the world do you get those ambient lights to turn off above you? they're not for me...really and as far as the guage cluster at night, i guess only the needles light up for each guage? is that right? i'll post pics soon. this car is an absolute monster though! i got the P2 package (whatever that means compared to the other ones) so it came with factory xenons, backup sensors (how do you get those to work too?) and a bunch of other little things i'll never use. i bought it with 55k miles on it.
one complaint though is the back pressure adjustments. i'm gonna disconnect them and stab them over and over again until all the air is out. i hate them.
lots of mods in mind and on the way as well eurocharged i'm coming for you!

Hey welcome first of all to the E Klasse world! lol.
I have an 07 E63 with P2 as well. love it.
First off the ambient lighting can be controlled with your steering wheel controls and the center hologram screen thing. You have to scroll the menu buttons until you get to settings, I believe it's under "convience" when you get to the settings screen.
I don't know what you mean by the guages on the cluster, take a picture and I can maybe help you out.
Also the Backup sensors, make sure the button isn't off, which means the red light is "on," on the little button next to your airmatic controls on the center console below your gear shifter. If the light is off, it should be on, and whenever you come to a low speed say in drive, you will see the bars lighting up from yellow lights, and then finally red, which is very close. Also the rear one is located in the rear of the car on the ceiling, just look at it from your rear view or turn your head around. Always make sure you won't hit anything though, don't get too comfortable.
Also I love the P2 package, it comes with Keyless-Go and it's spoiled me. Too bad my airmatic is acting funny on me, I'm going to pin point it tomorrow and find what's wrong.

You know, we should have a bay area W211 E63 GTG.
I have done a ton of my own maintenance and although DIY posts are great, nothing beats having the car there and actually going throught the motions.
I bet I could get Fletcher in Fremont to host something. Get them, to hand out coupons for tranny service or do a deeply discounted pre-pay (very hard to do yourself, although there is a DIY in the c-class forum)

i really liked the ambient lighting when i got my car. i don't notice it much anymore, but i also do have it turned down fairly low. i remember playing with some of the buttons on the roof and i'm pretty sure you can turn them on and off with one of those, as well as brighten or dim the lighting. but i just went down to play through settings/lighting and that is easy too.

thanks for the info everyone. it is an amazing car. definitely a boat to say the least when compared to the W203, but the performance acceleration wise is unparalleled. i figured out that the parking sensors don't beep.lol but yes they work. i got the amber lights above adjusted, but i didn't find a complete off setting though. no big deal.
here is a pic of the car at work. i like it because it was never modded or anyhting. completely stock with clean history. AMG flat badge on it that was all.

i'm getting LED license plate lights tomorrow and the windows all tinted. 20% for rear and 35% up front. anything i should look out for when they tint the rear windows? i told them easy on the water already, i wasn't sure if the antenna is under the rear panel or not.

Welcome to the club!
I've had my windows tinted twice without any issues. The first job wasn't done properly so they removed it all and did it again. I never even thought about the liguid going down into the doors.
If you think you love driving it now, wait until you get the Eurocharged V4 tune. There aren't many bang for your buck mods available for our cars but one great mod is removing the charcoal filters, if you haven't done that yet, this gets you close to the ROW air intake. It's free and you will notice a difference immediately.

I put 35% all the way around and it looks very classy. To me the tint makes the car look worse if it's really dark in the back and really light on the fronts. It sticks out more to an officer as well.
I now am a refugee to Arizona, and am loving it. I don't get harassed about tint, because the officers tint is darker than mine! And the front plate thing, Arizona doesn't even issue front plates!

thank you guys. i just got the windows tinted, 20% in the back and 35% up front i agree with it looking stupid if you go too dark in the back and not enough in the front. we own a building that does tint here in the bay area so i could get all the windows done for you guys between $100-$200.
i would like to delete the resonator though, can someone please post a thread about it?
the car isn't my DD like the C55 was. i don't want to drive it back and forth to college and work.

FYI if your car did not come with an owner's manual, MB will send you one for free. Plus MB sent me a cool AMG book that has it's own leather case telling the history of AMG and also a 100.00 gift card to Saks Fifth Avenue.
Not too bad for just buying a used car.

thanks for the love guys. LT headers cost a fraction of the price of the car! eurocharged ECU flash will be coming in the near future though. the car goes into the body shop in a week or so to repaint the front bumper, i don't like the license plate holes there and there are some scrapes undernearh. i want to do the resonator delete in a few weeks, can someone please provide me a link for a thread about doing that?
it came with the owner's manual, but i sold me c55 to a new member on here and i lost the owner's manual. how does he go about getting that? i remember when i first got my c55 it came with a gift card to saks a week or so later. i bought it CPO's though.
