Well, Mike from Weistec reached out to me today and we chatted.
He was very easy to talk to, and it sounds like a compounded series of unfortunate circumstances. I appreciate him reaching out to me to reconcile any animosity.
At the end of the day it wasn't my car, but I'm hopeful that Weistec will make things right with the owner.

Ocklasse, thank you for taking the time to speak to us, but you are still a bit misunderstood. We would never tell someone we will not repair a car in this case. We spent the time to make sure everything was perfect and it is perfect. The owner of the car feels like you completely blew this out of proportion. It seems you have a hard time with this.

I could care less about this he said she said business, what gives on the SC Kit? Last time I checked you either release a product or you don't, you can't release a product that doesn't appear to be available to anyone.

So they don't even have any made in stock ? got to wait for the fabrication once deposit is done ? also no Hp and torque # ? I rather save my $$$ for the new 5.5TT or M5. This kit with installation will cost at least $12K and who knows the reliability.

.....that link showed 115whp increase in a completely stock car with stock tb and 147 whp increase with 82mm tb. That is impressive and believable. Notice there is no 700whp like people were predicting. I understand that at least the 82mm tb car had once reservoir in the trunk and factor that in as you make your judgements. Looks like cooling is a major issue as always. Now keeping that in mind, it may then not be necessarily the case that highly modified cars with larger crank pulleys will make that much more power. Definitely not looking like 700whp. Weistec themselves never claimed 700whp, people just got excited and speculating that this would make much power than a uranium plant. The dyno figures Weistec has posted is impressive but not astronomical. You can achieve very close to those figures with bolt ons. So we know what a stock car would make. But we don't know what a fully modded car would make. I like how is so far Weistec is adding one modification at a time and providing the dyno numbers. If you already have all the bolt ons or even a built engine, how much power this sc will make is not clear and may not be that much more due to heat. Until those figures get published, we don't know. Speculators, be sober.

........I don't necessarily disagree with that. You used the phrase "properly set up car." I like the stepwise addition of mods and re-dynoing, otherwise it gets very confusing knowing what is what. Already, there is a question as to whether the increase in power from 115whp to 135 whp between the 74 and 82mm tb's is due to the ice reservoir not necessarily the 82mm tb. Some mods work synergistically, while others can work against each other. My point is that I don't just accept as automatic that throwing mods and additing weistec automatically equals 700whp. In any given setting oneneeds to know which mods actually make power and which ones don't.
