E63 Differential Oil weight and brand?
The owner manual show 75W-140 Hypoid oil but I read this weight is for LSD diff and could be a typo. My 07 E63 does not have LSD.
Also I have 2 bottles of Royal Purple 75W-140 in my garage, can I use this type of oil?
TIA

It does clearly show all other E class to use specification 235.7 which you can find here.

All of this was hashed out on the forum way back in early 2008.

My question is can I use 75W-140 weight in my E63 for non-LSD diff??
I have had the Royal Purple 75-140 in my little C55 since January, and it runs great. It will work just fine for your E63.

For future reference all W211 E63 non-LSD use 75W-140 weight.

Also, when I first went to do the LSD oil change at 2kmiles, they gave me the gear lube 85w-90, which is correct for non-LSD E class.
Gents, you have seen my DIYs. I usually have this down right and I have been using the MB fluids page for 3years now. Of course that's my ego talking and it drives me crazy the amount of inaccurate information there is on this forum.
As for using the Royal Purple... I also anticipate it will work just fine for you, so no worries.
I went through this exercise after I had Quaife done. Non LSD cars came with the standard 85W-90 gear lube. P30 cars use the Castrol 75-140 lube.
I originally refilled with the 85W-90 lube after doing Quaife, but am currently running the MB spec Castrol 75-140 lube in my 63, per my dealer tech's recommendation, but honestly do not notice any difference.
Either lube will be just fine in the non LSD diff, as will the Royal Purple. Don't sweat it.
Given the car you list you drive, it is not an LSD. Not sure how to get the gear ratio.
