Finally deleted my resonator.

With the resonator, the exhaust note sounded very smooth and refined. However, I wanted more of a raw sound and deleting the resonator with the internal crossover gave it a bit more burble & gurgle. I still have the secondary cats with stock H-pipe.

Resonator delete is perfect on these cars. I just did mine recently as well, looks identical to your picture. The car is not louder, however, the tone is definitely noticeable and better - more throaty and deeper. I am not one to delete cats, I plan on leaving all of them there.

I am installing the C63 mufflers next week, that should really bump up the dB level!

GET SOME C63 MUFFLERS, MAN!

Nice!

I looked and looked, but can't find any more info on the steering wheel. DCT, ?? Also, the shift lever cover--just carbon wrap? Mine is starting to show a touch of wear. Thanks for any help on the wheel....

Thanks guys.

Steering wheel is DCT Motorsports, all leather, perforated sides, black stitching. I retrofitted AMG 63 paddles with the generous help of latemodel21.

I wrapped the shift console with some leftover 3M DI-NOC carbon fiber vinyl wrap.

Pretty good. Kinda limiting my driving until I get a rear tire swapped out, though (cords starting to show on the inside).

Right? Still running stock headers, so perhaps secondary cat delete and X-pipe.

Awesome! I didn't mention it as I wanted to see if someone would notice this small detail.

I picked it up from eBay (~$100). Just search for: w211; third; brake; smoked. It's manufactured by DEPO, which is very good in terms of aftermarket quality. It has the LED bulb arrangement of the facelift w211 and the lens is a very light smoke.

good stuff GunMoto...cleanest pewter E55 imo. didn't go crazy with the contrast scheme...black wheels tinted tails, super dark tint, etc. put together very tastefully with that OEM+ style

BMW M5 + E55 AMG
Truly an inspiration. I normally do not like the stock E55 bumpers, but you pull it off well. I don't much goals for mine in terms of mods, I plan on lowering it just a tad eventually and adding spacers to the front + E63 trunk lip and maybe a diffuser. Glad to see these cars can look amazing even without adding facelift parts.

Unfortunately, I don't know of an LED bulb with a "JDM/LeMans/3000K" yellow color temp, so:

I modified "warm white" color temp LED bulbs (2000K-4000K) w/CANBUS and painted the actual LEDs with clear yellow paint.

The warm white color temp is key, because a cooler white will yield a slightly green tint.

The error free CANBUS bulbs I used are from SuperBrightLEDs.com, here ($9.95 each):

http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...se-tower/1129/

The paint I used is Tamiya clear yellow acrylic paint (X-24) commonly used for scale models, here:

http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/paint...r-yellow-81524

Simply apply as many coats required to achieve an even application of the clear yellow, and allow to completely cure/dry before installing.

The result is mustard yellow looking bulb, but the tradeoff is a nice "3000K" yellow color when lit!!

Thank you sir!! Def wanted to keep any black trim (e.g., grill, etc.) minimal as "accents." I know what you mean when it starts to become too much of a contrast.

Keep it clean and simple and you'll be surprised how the right subtle combination of changes makes a huge impact.

Here's a few minor updates:

AMG badge for front grill (I actually had to modify the bracket to fit the grill properly):

Suede shift boot (I originally wanted Alcantara, but need to source a vendor to make one):

Updated (arrow) turn signal mirror covers (purchased them in black for now, I may consider painting them pewter in the future):

Euro (aspherical) mirrors:

ZKW-R clear projector lenses for a sharper cutoff (from TheRetrofitSource.com):

Thanks for looking!!
