So I Went To Install My K&N Filters But...

Was surprised by two things, each side has two filters and all the junk that was in the air box. I needed to use a vacuum to clean them out.

I don't remember having two filters on my old E55, I guess its there for extra insurance if something gets by the first filters.

Do you guys leave the top filters installed when installing the K&N filters?

I did remove my Charcoals at first, but KEPT getting a P2087 code, and ended up putting them back in WITH my K&N and ZERO codes since.

my dealer tried to give me lip about removing the top filers when I did my K&N installs. Said to put them back in or they will void engine warranty so I put them back in. Didn't get any errors for the 4 or so months I ran without them.

I think I'll leave them in because I'm still under warranty. Celicasaur, I didn't have them in my E55.
