Who saw PASS times last night?

I couldn't believe what I was seeing Pure Dodge Viper lineup either Twin Turb's or Supercharged w/Nitrous & 1 Lambo Gallardo (All Twin Turbo's were done by UGR)
The last race was w/Gallardo UGR TT driven by none other than 1 of the actual owners of Under Ground Racing.

What I couldn't believe seeing was the HP @ the rear wheels (And the ET/Trap speeds these things put down) Every car/driver had forced iduction & told the PASS times host & game contestants the HP ratings @ the rear wheels, most gloating "ahh she puts out 900 to the wheels" (was lowest HP/TQ on show) others were between 1000-1200 RWHP.

The Gallardo TT/UGR driven by 1 of the owners of UGR (his personal car) it was the most powerful car in the show, according to him it put down 1200 HP @ wheels. Now onto the ET/Traps wtf! (most cars were on 18" stock wheels w/few on fat 345 Drag tires, only (2) on actual race setups) The race setup wheel/tire combos obviously put down best times, if memory serves 10.50 @ 155 mph & 10.60 @ 144 mph both reported 1000 odd RWHP

Though all the other Viper TT's were on large Street 345's on 18"s they ran (1) 10.90 @ 135 mph, rest were in the 11's w/low low Traps (most cars were breaking up all down the track, sounded like shhi_T. One that blew my mind most was part owner of UGR running his Gallardo w/gloating 1200 HP @ rear wheels (you'd think he of all people would want to show what 1 of UGR's most powerful cars there could do) He ran 11.60 @ 124 mph?? You could see the front suspension lifting up between gear changes, it obviously had some power but wtf forget the ET the Trap speed tells the real story on that 1200 @ wheel claim it doesn't = 124 mph

Wonder if cars/drivers like this were running jrkart @ that runway event vs his 650-700 rwhp C63 Blk Series that ate up multiple 1000 RWHP claimed cars at that event (not to confuse it w/jrkarts 900+ rwhp CLK 63 Blk Ser & NOT to take anything away from jrkarts runs that day) I'm thinking the majority of drivers/owners of these 1000-1200 rwhp cars can't drive them anywhere near there potential (Vipers are all equiped w/manual trannys, IDK if Gallardo was E-Gear or Manual) It's only logical reason I can think of.

Hope this isn't repost of some kind, it was 1st time I've seen that episode

I watched it...pretty cool. The stick really hurts those cars for the dragstrip unless you 'really' know how to drive and have a big tire.

I do agree though...big big HP and not very good times but big stupid mph's!!! It was cool either way.

Yeah something is weird... we have AMGs here with nothing close to 1000hp and much heavier running mid 10s... so how can a lighter lambo with more power run similar times? I guess all that power is useless in the gears down low.

That episode is from 2009 back when the TT Gallardo was still relatively new and they were doing mostly Vipers.

According to the guys there including UGR, the track prep sucked. One of the TT vipers that ran 11 secs on street tires on that episode actually held (maybe still does) the true street tire record getting somewhere into the 9’s on 20” Nitto Invos.

Apparently everyone started turning down the boost as soon as they realized how slick the track was. There were also a few missed shifts including in one of the Lambo runs (not sure how you do that).

There is a full weight TT Viper that just recently dipped into the 6's at over 215mph on drag radials. Top cars that are still streetable are getting up in the 1500-1800RWHP range.

Here's a video of one of the 6.9x passes in this 'street' car. Full interior, stereo, etc. Actually weights about 200lb more than stock. Not sure it's quite legal to put your license plate on a parachute though

Sal's viper is bonkers. He shows up to the rentals that Ahmad sets up, on occasion. The car is just so well composed and so fun to watch....
