E63 - Impressed with long range MPG
Went from Seattle to Idaho over the weekend. AVG MPG came out at 20.5 @ avg speed of 85 MPH. That's pretty good I think.
Wife has not spent a lot of time in the car. On the way back it started raining and the windshield wipers swiped the windshield. She looked over and said you didn't do anything and it wiped the windshield. I pointed to the sensor and said its in auto mode. She just rolled her eyes.

1200 miles, average 69 miles per , 24-25 mpg 4am-9 pm stopped for breakfast, lunch, dinner and of course fuel. Mobile Alabama to Erie Pennsylvania E63 and no PITA good seats
Same trip 1200 miles average 70 mph best gas mileage was 26.1 CLK63 CAB stop only food and fuel
Both cars maximum weight, fully loaded trunk and back seat, I mean really loaded down no issues

funny you bring this up, this past weekend i went on my first road trip in the 63, i was impressed also. i was averaging 21.5mpg thats with crossing over the rocky mountains. I averaged 22mpg on level ground before heading back over the Rockies. this was traveling at 73-78mph (8mph over is the max for I-90 E or W, WSP is easily hidden)

Anyone owning a 07 E63 having the head bolt problem, is it possible early cars recieved different batches of head bolts in comparison to the C63 engines, any ideas or comments!
