Fuel just after the cap tank !!

Recently, I can smell fuel, pump and senders are fine. When I go the fuel station and wanted to put some fuel, it acts like if the tank is full but actually it is not !!! Could it be pressure inside the tank?

Another thing, When I got home one time, I just opened the cap tank and found fuel is just out before the tank entrance !!! How did get there? Whenever I smell the fuel, I just open the cap and see some fuel.

Attached is a picture, sorry if it is not so clear, took it using iphone and at night.

Ahmad,

Be careful, these cars can't stand being topped off, it is a good idea to call it good, when the auto shut off clicks off first time. During the summer we get cool fuel from underground tanks then pump it in to a hot tank with two very hot pipes and hot diff under it, and this fuel expands, not good. There has been some reports of vent gromets poping out of these already flawed fuel tanks.

The fuel level in your tank is way too high and it will flood your charcoal canaster to the point raw fuel will be discharged over right rear wheel well. So if you see fuel under the car it could be a gromet, if you see fuel behind right rear tire the canaster is flooded.

i count my blessings every day that I don't smell fuel, our tanks & pumps/senders suck.

The problem is that I know the tank is not ful, it is almost empty since the last fill I did (which is usually 3/4 the tank, I never go full with it since there are problems as we all know with that).

it gives the action as of the tank is full, but i think it is due to pressure inside the tank due to something in the fuel system, knowing that pump and senders ok, I am left with

1. Tank cap
2. Fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail

That are all what I can think of at the moment.

You may have an issue with the charcoal canister and/or canister vent valve.

I have no clue on what's wrong with your car, but the fuel pressure regulator is not on the rail. It's in the sending unit aka driver side pump. Good luck.
