And Toadster, I guess you didn't know that the U.S. has a MASSIVE amount of oil ha? In fact more than all the middle east countries combined account for the different types.

For crude oil US isn't even in the top 12.

For coal US does have World's 25% Reserves though.

I wish the gov't would come out and say "We are importing most of our oil because when imports stop, we have our own stash we have kept in the ground."
Of course the other things the gov't has done is to resitrict import (54 cent per gallon tariffs on imports - although this may have lapsed in 2012) of foreign ethanol which Brasil makes much more cheaply than we do. They use sugar cane which is more productive. "Sugarcane produces eight times more energy per pound than corn"

The engine is not the major problem. The fuel delivery system is the issue. Just as some here have theorized that it may be responsible for the fuel tank leaks. ANything in the fuel system that is hydrocarbon based (plastic, rubber, etc) needs to be designed to handle the ethanol.

Im only running it in the GN but it's a hike to get it! It works so well on boosted cars.
