It does correct itself after a few seconds and while the AFR is showing lean everything else says it is actually running rich and the wideband is picking up the oxygen in the unburnt fuel.
The bad news for those that have this same issue is that if my car is anything to go by a software revision update does not fix it.

This place is a joke.
Sorry to hear the s/w update did not fix it. There goes that theory. I still have zero problems to date. Maybe we can start a list of our engine ecu part #s and see if there is a pattern there.

How much boost are you seeing max at WOT in 3rd gear? I have the same issue and my boost number seems really low from what others are seeing with similar pulleys. I have 178 lower and 84 upper max I have seen logging through obdii with dashdaq is 27psi minus 14.5 for atmospheric pressure makes 12.5psi. Maybe a boost leak??? I know you have gone over the car again and again, but what boost are you seeing??
IAT 136.3 (degF) RPM 6350 (RPM) SPARKADV -16 (degBTDC) MAP (PSI) 30.29

hmmm, that's 3psi higher than me, I'm at 600ft or so above sea level. Just ordered a zeitronix map sensor to see if my reading is inaccurate or not. If not, I must have a boost leak. Looks like you have similar exhaust mods too, also ported heads which I would think would lower your boost over mine. Something does not seem right to me with my boost readings

Would be good idea to list what tunes people are running who have this issue.
I dont know of any OE tuned cars with it. Not saying there aren't I just dont know of any, myself included.
Might want to try another TB or another tune. I knows its not real simple or cheap......

. For documentation sake my mods with this problem:
2003 e55 118k
77mm FSP
belt wrap kit

You did the KC with trunk tank ? How are you liking it so far ?

Loving it. I'm at 5-10* above ambient on normal driving I climb to max 20* above ambient on WOT pull and back to 10* above in moments. Been meaning to meet up with you. PM see if we can make some fun passes next weekend in the south county area.

How can we anyone find the deeper details of that issue? Is it for sure an ECU problem?
Jesus i already bought myself an expensive 82mm TB new MB Part but since reading this im afraid to actually add it to the motor...

Cool, best mod for these cars IMO. Are you still running the heat exchanger ? 20 above ambient on WOT ? Are those short pulls ? Mine still gets very high on any long WOT pulls. I have gone from 55 IAT to 170 with a 0-130 run. You arent making the heat mine is making though which would help. Just looked it up and your pulley should be making the same boost as a 180 pulley. Not much less heat than my 185 lower . Love to know how yours reacts to a long WOT pull. Benn wondering how much a trunk tank would help over my 2.5 gal tank. Surprised your IATs arent getting below ambient unless you are running your heat exchanger still.

Here's a screenshot of my log while cruising (note: ignore the upper AFR, it was a broken sensor). The first vertical line is where it hits hiccup mode and the second one with the numbers is where I am getting fuel cut after hitting some boost. While in hiccup mode with fixed pulley, hitting 7-8psi instantly maxes AFR and the car just stumbles while MAP also spikes. Looking at the TPS line, you would think I am jamming on the gas, but I am not. I'm only giving it like 10-15% and it spikes to 100%.

Where is the sensor that translates gas pedal movement in to TPS?
Here's another. So weird.

This place is a joke.
The gas pedal itself has a sensor that sends the [requested by driver] throttle position to the ECU. I wonder what "tps percent" is actually looking at...feedback from the throttle body I would assume.

Your MAP graph line, and AFR, matches the TPS, it sure looks like your throttle is opening and we can assume no fuel is being added, hence the lean condition, and of course the car not accelerating on it's own.
